Clyde C. Howard (MARTINEZ, Ga.)

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Clyde Charles Howard, 81, entered into rest Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga., husband of the late Mrs. Bobbie Lowery Howard. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 3:00PM at the Trinity Baptist Church, Martinez, Ga., with the Dr. K.C. Stevens and the Rev. Ron Hankal officiating. Interment will be in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery. He was a native of Pickens, S.C., a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Martinez, Ga., and a retired welder from the Augusta Iron and Steel. He was also a volunteer fireman of Martinez, Ga. Survivors include four sons: Jerry Nix, Liberty, S.C., Steve Nix, Martinez, Robert Howard, Mauldin, S.C., and Pat Howard, Easley, S.C.; two daughters: Jackie Shoemaker, Texas and Janice Howard, Martinez; two brothers: Dewey (Bud) Howard and Johnny Howard. He was preceded in death by his sons, Terrell Nix and Fred Howard; and his daughter, Patricia Nix. Also his brother, William (Bill) Howard and sisters, Helen Phillips, Mamie Howard, Lucille Chapman. Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gene Knox, Charles Fletcher, Leslie Timmerman, Kenny Phillips, Jim Slagle, Greg Slagle. Visitation will be Friday evening from 7 to 9 at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy 78, Harlem, GA.
