Amy Simmons Parker (HARLEM, Ga.)

HARLEM, Ga. - Entered into rest on Saturday, May 2, 2009, from injuries sustained in an accident, Ms. Amy Simmons Parker, age 34 of Harlem, Georgia, formerly of Aiken, S.C., beloved daughter of Margie English Boyd of Aiken, S.C. and the late Stanley P. Simmons. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Randy A. Boyd of Aiken, S.C.; grandmother, Polly Raburn of Ideal, GA.; fiancŽe, Richard W. Gonsalves, Jr.; daughters, Kayla Keenan and Abigail Parker; sons, Lain Parker and Elijah Gonsalves all of Harlem, GA.; sister, Shalene Boyd of Aiken, S.C.; brothers, Shannon Simmons of Ashville, NC and Jason Simmons of Aiken, S.C. and Stuart Boyd of Hephzibah, GA. She was born in Americus, GA. but had been a lifelong resident of Aiken County prior to moving to Harlem, GA two years ago. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and a parttime student at Aiken Tech. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken. The family stated that she was a great nurse, who really enjoyed working with and helping disabled people, especially children. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched, which was many, as she was really devoted to her family and her profession. Yes, earth's loss is truly heaven's gain. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 3:00 PM at Shiloh Baptist Church in Aiken, S.C. with Rev. David Hardy and Rev. James Sarchet officiating. The interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, May 5th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Napier Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a trust fund, which has been setup for the children at SRP Credit Union. Ms. Parker will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
