John Joseph Jakubov (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - John Joseph Jakubov, 88, of 4H Club Road, entered into rest Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Trinity Hospital. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military Honors, with Father Rafael Estrada officiating. Mr. Jakubov was a native of Duquesne, Pennsylvania and son of the late Michael and Anna Banosky Jakub. He was a retired Patrolman with Savannah River Site. Mr. Jakubov served in the US Marines during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was highly decorated, receiving a Purple Heart, Silver Star and The Presidential Unit Citation. Mr. Jakubov was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mr. Jakubov was preceded in death by two brothers Jakey Jakub and Edward Jakub. He is survived by his sons and daughters in law, Jon Gerald and Judy Jakubov of Maize Kansas, Kenneth Edward and Stephanie Jakubov of Augusta, his daughters and sons in law, Debra Jakubov and Arlon McCall of Franklin, NC, Laureen Jakubov and Allen Rhodes of Augusta, Eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, his brothers, Michael Jakub, Albert Jakub, William Jakub and Frankie Jakub, his sisters, Florence Jakub and Delores Mewkalo all of Duquesna, Pennsylvania. Active Pallbearers will be Adam Deas, John White, Allen Rhodes, Keith Penvose, Corey Rhodes and Barry Mclain. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Hospice St. Joseph Foundation P.O.
