EVANS, Ga. - Entered into rest Friday, December 19, 2008. Mrs. Neslyn Maud Chambers-Reid of Palmer Court. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church, 703 Fury's Ferry Road with Reverend Robert L. Ramsey officiating. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Chambers-Reid was a native of St. James, Jamaica in the West Indies. She was a member of Gospel Water Branch Baptist Church. Neslyn was a registered nurse for thirty-eight years. Her extensive career in nursing includes her hospital work throughout Jamaica, Toronto, Canada, New York and the Department of Veterans Affairs in Augusta, where she retired in 1994. Survivors are one daughter, Suzanne Reid-Searles; mother, Ida Chambers; three sisters, Hazeley Davidson, Neva Messias and Joyce Walker; one brother, Leo Chambers; five grandchildren, Sara Reid, Dexter Jones Reid, Jodie Searles, Nikki Morant and Shaveh Bryant and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
