NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Mr. Jan Dabrowski, 87, of Fairfield Ave., entered into rest Sunday December 14, 2008 at his residence. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father Tim Lijewski, celebrant. A rosary for the deceased will be held Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Rowland Funeral Home at 6:00 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the rosary until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Dabrowski was a native of Poland, having made North Augusta his home. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He received a Bachelor of Science from London University; a Master of Science in Chemistry from the Brooklyn Polytechic Institute and received a Higher Diploma in Textiles from Nottingham and District Technical College. Mr. Dabrowski was a Technical Director having retired from the Clearwater Finishing Plant. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Polish Legion of American Veterans and the Polish Heritage Society of Southeast Aiken; a bomber Pilot in the Polish Air Force in England during World War II and was a prisoner in a Concentration Camp in Russia for participating in underground activities. Survivors include a son, Christopher Joseph Dabrowski of North Augusta; a daughter, Darcy Ann MacEachern (Daniel) of Augusta; two grandchildren, Blaise MacEachern and K.C. MacEachern; two step-brothers, Joseph Karwoski and Stanley Karwoski, both of Poland. Mr. Dabrowski was preceded in death by his wife Ann Sikora Dabrowski and a brother, Marion Dabrowski.
