John Franklin Hudkins (EVANS, Ga.)

EVANS, Ga. - John Franklin Hudkins, 90, of Evans, Ga., formerly of Scott Depot, W.Va., died September 28, 2008 in Augusta, Ga. Born July 16, 1918 in Paris, Ky., he was a son of the late Lot H. and Mayme Miller Hudkins. He was a retired accountant with Union Carbide Corporation, South Charleston, W.Va. and had been a college professor/art teacher at Morris Harvey College, Charleston, W.Va. He was known for his talents as an artist and a writer. He served his country with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Helen Virginia Hudkins; his children and their spouses, Terry and Pat Hudkins of Lake Jackson, Texas, Debra and Greg Finnell of Augusta, Ga., Becky and Tony Petrucci of Lake Villa, Ill.; his grandchildren, Roni Kaye, John, Aimee, Terrell, Chris, Kimmy, Mandy, Carina, and Leo; his great- grandchildren, Gunnar, Gavin, Andrew, Tucker, and Benjamin. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2008 at St. John United Methodist Church, 4013 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot, W.Va., with Dr. Martin H. Hallett officiating. Entombment will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston, W.Va. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane, W.Va.
