John Wideman (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. John Wideman of Kennedy Drive entered into rest Friday, August 1, 2008 at the residence. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Justin Higgins officiating. He was a native of Richmond County, Ga.; a U.S. Navy Veteran; worked at Columbia Nitrogen over 25 years; a retired employee of International Paper and a member of the U.S. Steel Workers International Local #1803 (formerly PACE). Survivors are his wife, Gloria Battle Wideman; one son, Zeric O. Wideman; two daughters, Tameka Wideman, Augusta and Yolanda (Keith) Davis, Sicily, Italy; one sister, Remell (Walter) McKenzie, Augusta; two brothers, Carl (Annie) Wideman and Ernest (Peggy) Wideman, Hephzibah; four grandchildren; aunt, Eula Williams, Chester, Pa.; mother-in-law, Ola Battle, Augusta; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
