Mary Horger Hunter (SUMTER, S.C.)

SUMTER, S.C. - Mary Horger Hunter, 67 widow of Charles Alexander Hunter, died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at her home. Born in Jamison, SC, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Franklin Horger and Dorothy Mae Mitchum Horger. Mrs. Hunter was an active member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was retired from the Creech Holding Corporation and was a Tuomey Regional Medical Center Volunteer. Mrs. Hunter was a beloved mother and grandmother. Surviving are two daughters, Linda Hunter Fuqua and husband David of Valdosta, GA, Gayle Hunter Wenzel and husband Gary of Lexington; a son, Randal R. Hunter and wife Autumn of Evans, GA; two brothers, Charles Horger and Gene Horger both of Orangeburg; a sister, Evelyn Whisenhunt of Orangeburg; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lain, Andy, Larry, and Ken Whisenhunt, Jimmy Horger, and G. Scott Hunter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
