Harold G. Bledsoe (GRANITEVILLE, S.C.)

GRANITEVILLE, S.C. - Completed life's journey and entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 7, 2008, Mr. Harold G. Bledsoe, age 76, of Graniteville, S.C., beloved husband of Pearlious Miller Bledsoe and son of the late Otis and Olivia Turner Bledsoe. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sheri (Robert G.) Gossett of Graniteville, S.C.; a son, Jeffrey (Debbie) Bledsoe of Hendersonville, N.C.; sisters, Ruth (Harold) Cumbee of Ridge Spring, S.C. and Tammy (Wade) Screws of Graniteville, S.C.; brothers, Denver Bledsoe of Johnston, S.C., Calvin (Marina) Bledsoe of Clinton, S.C. and Narvin Bledsoe of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Justin Bledsoe, Tierney Bledsoe, and Savannah Gossett. He was born in Johnston, S.C. but has been a resident of Aiken County for the past 52 years. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church in Graniteville, where he was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and also served as a Deacon. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Graniteville Leisure Club. He was very patriotic, as he served 14 years in the National Guard. The family stated that he was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather who was always respectful of others. You could definitely say that he was a people person. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends, but there is a consolation in knowing that he has gone to his Heavenly home, where all is peace and joy. The funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Wilson officiating. The interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Langley, S.C. The pallbearers will be Earl Wilson, Cortez Proctor, Steve McKenney, David Bledsoe, Allen Bledsoe, and Art Lee. The Telephone Pioneers will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. The family will receive friends tonight, Tuesday, April 8th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Napier Funeral Home. Memorials, in Mr. Bledsoe's honor, may be made to a charity of one's choice. Napier Funeral Home, 315 Main St., Graniteville, SC. Sign the guestbook at AugustaChronicle.com
