Karen Lynn Lombardy (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Karen Lynn Lombardy, 53, entered into rest Sunday, March 23rd, 2008, at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Dr. Kim F. Lombardy, the two of whom were high school sweethearts; son Vincent F. Lombardy; daughter Laura L. Pascazio, her husband Nicholas J. Pascazio, and their unborn child. She is also survived by her mother, Beverly L. Dahlke and step-father Frank E. Dahlke, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her father Jack L. Sharp. Mrs. Lombardy was born in Sandusky, Ohio. She and her husband moved to Augusta in 1979 to open their Family Practice, Lombardy Chiropractic Clinic. Upon their arrival, she quickly became an active volunteer in the community. She chaired many organizations and served numerous charities in Augusta. As a member of St. Mary's on-the-Hill Catholic Church she sat on the church council and served as President of the PCCW. She also served on the Springlakes Covenants Committee for 10 years and as crimewatch chairman. Her latest work was with the West Lake Womens Club and the Lady Lakers. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 1996, she had battled this disease for 12 years, but never stopped giving to the community. A graveside service will be conducted by Father Michael Lubinsky at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Westover Memorial Park.
