AUGUSTA, Ga. - Lillian Josephine White, 88, a longtime Christian educator, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga. Born September 10, 1919 in Rutherford County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Crane White. A graduate of Furman University and the New Orleans Baptist Seminary, she was the Minister of Education and Principal at Lake Park Baptist Church in Augusta for 32 years and taught at the Hillcrest Christian School for a number of years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by nine brothers and sisters. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Lake Park Baptist Church in Augusta conducted by the Rev. Bob Riley and the Rev. Bob Gosey. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Missions Program at Lake Park Baptist Church, 211 Milledge Road, Augusta, GA 30904.
