Louise Hanson (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Miss Louise Hanson, affectionately known as "Jean", was born January 3, 1923 to the late John Hanson and Rebecca Wilson Hanson in Messina, Ga. She was reared in Warren County and attended the school system there. Her parents instilled in her the importance of learning about Jesus and she joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church early in life. In later years, Miss Hanson moved to Augusta and united with the Antioch Baptist Church. She attended regularly and was a good steward. She was involved with the Mission and always willing to assist whenever asked to help. Miss Hanson was employed by the Federal Government and served as a supervisor at Fort Gordon for many, many years. On December 4, 2007, the angels of Heaven softly, gently and peacefully carried our "Jean" home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Left to cherish her precious memory are: one sister, Miss Gussie Hanson of Augusta; nieces, Mary Alice Wilson-Ostolaza (Jose) of Evans; devoted caretaker, Mrs. Eliza (Robert) Samuels of Grovetown and Patricia Wilson of Augusta; nephew, Walter (Marjorie) Wilson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three great-nieces, Lorrainea, Melody and Niketris; two great-nephews, Walter, Jr. and Kevin ("Jean's heart"); three great-great-nephews, Ronald, Kenneth, Deshon; special friends, Dorothy Kendrick and Emma Drayton and a host of other relatives and friends and special friend, Mrs. Willie Maude Dickerson. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Antioch Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with burial at Laboring Home Society Cemetery in Warrenton, Ga.
