AUGUSTA, Ga. - John David Barab, Jr., beloved husband of Patsy Lee Barab, died December 4, 2007 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Barab was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy, Gainesville, GA.; obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina where he was a member of Phi Kappa Sigma; received a Master of Science degree from Michigan State University; an MBA degree from Drexel University; and other graduate degrees from the University of Virginia and the University of Pennsylvania. He retired as Lt. Colonel after 30 years in active and reserve duty with the U. S. Air Force. He also retired from the Federal Aviation Authority as a Systems Analyst after 30 years. Mr. Barab was a member of Operations Research Society of America, Institute of Management Sciences, American Mathematical Society, American Statistical Association, Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics, American Legion, Air Force Association and Reserve Officers Association. He was President of St. Leonard's Tract Association in Ventnor City, NJ and was a member and lifeguard of the Atlantic City Beach Patrol. Additional survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Richard Barab, Cape May, NJ; one niece; two nephews and one grand-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. John Barab, Ventnor, N. J. and one stepson, Gregory Lee.
