AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, December 4, 2007, at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, SFC Richard F. Popp, 59, husband of Juanita Fort Popp. Richard was a native of Constance, KY and lived in Augusta for the past 31 years. He retired from the US Army after 22 years and also retired as prison guard for S.C. Department of Corrections and as a security guard for US Security and Securitas. Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Melinda Paris (Vince) of Camden, SC, Monroe McEntire of North Augusta, Michelle Bush of North Augusta; grandchildren: Lauren Bush, Grant Bush, Nicolas Paris, Carson McEntire; mother: Marion Faye Holt; brothers: Danny Popp (Dottie), George Popp (Linda) and Tony Popp, (Carla) all of Kentucky and sisters: Sandy Thompson and Nancy Brown (Gary) also of Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with full military honors.
