Joseph A. 'Tony' Gill (MARTINEZ, Ga.)

MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Joseph A. "Tony" Gill III, husband of Mrs. Mary Mura Gill entered into rest with the Lord on Thursday November 29, 2007. Funeral services will be held on Monday December 3, 2007 at St. Teresa Avila Catholic Church at 12:00 noon with Reverend Michael E. Roverse and Pastor Rich Bowen officiating. Interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Survivors include; three sons, Joey Gill and his wife, Shelia of Evans, Eric C. Gill of Martinez, and Jamie Gill and his wife, Wendy of Grovetown; two daughters, Paula G. Chaney of Augusta, and Jennifer Gill Bieller of Evans; one sister-in-law, Juanita Gill of Roanoke, VA; grandchildren, Virginia Cash, George A. Kirkland, Kathryn Chaney, Karl J. Chaney II, Joey Gill, Lauren Gill, John Paul Bieller, Alex Gill, Anna Gill, Andrew Gill and Avery Gill; great-grandchildren, Victoria Cash, Heather Smith, Elizabeth Manders. Mr. Gill was predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Beulah Gill, one brother, Charles W. Gill. Mr. Gill was a charter member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus (Patrick Walsh Council), a member and past president of the former Summerville Augusta Exchange Club, and a former member of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve. He was also a member of Green Meadows Country Club and the Irish American Heritage Society. The family would like to give a special thanks to Terry Crawley his personal caregiver. Mr.Gills two dogs, Shadow and Chandler were loving and faithful companions. Pallbearers will be; John Forde, Tim Salyer, Ryan L. Mura, Bobby Deer, Keith Gunn, and Frank Holroyd.
