Olivia Hardeman Carter (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Olivia Hardeman Carter, age 80, beloved wife of Mr. Henry Lee Carter, entered into rest at her home on Saturday, September 22, 2007. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 25th, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Westview Cemetery, 2051 Division Street, Augusta, Ga. with Wes Gardner officiating. Mrs. Carter, a native of Augusta, was the only daughter of Charles Griffin Hardeman and Annie Clyde Hardeman. Mrs. Carter was a telephone operator before devoting her life to her husband and family. A talented poetress, a wonderful housekeeper, wife and mother, she loved music and making people laugh. She was a vibrant, intelligent soul, fiercely honest, and dedicated to the family and friends she loved. She was a member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. She is also survived by her four sons, Kenneth Carter, Augusta, Ga., Ron Carter, Appling Ga., Mike Carter, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Chuck Carter, Grovetown Ga.; as well as ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, the late Mr. Clyde Tracy Carter. Active pallbearers will be her four surviving sons, Mr. Jerry Tiller, and her grandson, Jesse Carter.
