William 'Bill' Kitchens (GIBSON, Ga.)

GIBSON, Ga. - Mr. William "Bill" Kitchens, 95, of Griffin Pond Road, entered into rest August 12, 2007 at Trinity Hospice in Augusta, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gibson First Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Kitchens and Rev. Ralph Kitchens officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Bill was a native of Glascock Co. and a member of Gibson First Baptist Church. Mr. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Mrs. Meriam Newsome Kitchens of Gibson; two daughters, Joyce (James) Davis of Martinez and Linda (Les) Newsome of Gibson; two sisters, Carolyn Williams of Augusta and Louise Knowles of Evans; 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, James Kitchens. Pallbearers are Kevin Kitchens, Barry Newsome, Larry Newsome, David Newsome, Dale Davis, Lanny Sirois, and Ricky Rickerson. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Knowles, Terry Redfern, Denny Newsome, Phil Williams, Stevie Thigpen, Jo Dean Usry, Jimmy Sanders, Phil Thigpen, Kevin Hink, Curley Kitchens, Pope Kent, Thomas Chalker, and Brian Bopp. The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
