Julian (Paul) James (HEPHZIBAH, Ga.)

HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Mr. Julian (Paul) James, Sr., 63, husband of 27 years to Mrs. Glenda James, entered into rest Sunday, July 22, 2007 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from Mount Lebanon Baptist Church with Reverend Billy Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. James will lie in state at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service. Mr. James was born in Richmond County and the son of the late Julian W. and Mertie Lee Rowland James. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church and had been a warehouse operator with Proctor and Gamble for many years. Mr. James was a 32-Degree Mason and a member of Richmond Lodge # 412 and a Shriner. Additional survivors include three sons, Jimmy James of McBean, Curtis James of Evans, and Julian (Jay) P. James, Jr. of Hephzibah; three grandsons, Beau James, Bryan James and Dalton James; brothers and sister-in-law, Jack and Ruth James, Gary James, and Ricky James all of Hephzibah; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and Elmer Bowen of Augusta, Julie and Jim Wertz of Evans, Janelle and Archie Black of McBean, and Glenda Sue and Jerry Ashford of Thornton, Colo. Active Pallbearers will be Jeremy James, Ron James, Jason James, Bobby Bailey, David Schult, and Johnathon Marable. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, 3965 Deans Bridge Rd., Hephzibah, Ga. 30815. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
