Gladys Hobbs Usry (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Gladys Hobbs Usry, 59, beloved wife of forty years to Mr. Charles L. Usry, Sr., of Coleman Ave., entered into rest Sunday, May 29, 2007 at University Hospital. Funeral services will be held this Thursday, at 1:00 P.M. from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors, with the Reverend Jerry G. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Mrs. Usry, a native and lifelong resident of Augusta was the daughter of the late Otis Lester and Sarah Frances McCullough Hobbs. Her son Wyman Lester Usry also preceded her in death. Mrs. Usry loved her family and would do anything for anyone and had been a member of Southside Baptist Church. Additional survivors include her son, Charles L. Usry, Jr., of Augusta; daughters and sons-in-law, Theresa and Jimmy Wortham and Connie and Bobby Meadows, all of Augusta; brother, Billy Lee Hobbs of Fork Union, VA; sisters, Mary Frances Kinkead of Deer Park, TX, Shirley Poore of Bremo Bluff, VA, and Irma Lee Hobbs of Sanford, NC; as well as two grandchildren, Carli and Charlie Wortham. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Wortham, Bobby Meadows, Charlie Bowles, Mike Kelly, Larry Barnes and Tim Whittle. If desired memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O.
