Betty M. Smallwood (WARRENTON, Ga.)

WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Betty Mae Roberson Smallwood, age 71, beloved wife of Mr. Joe C. Smallwood of Ansley Road died Tuesday April 10, 2007 at the McDuffie Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Thursday April 12, 2007 at the Long Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Crews officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Smallwood will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Mrs. Smallwood, a native of Telfair County, GA was a lifelong resident of Warren County, GA. and the daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Georgia Abbott Roberson. She was a homemaker and an active member of Long Creek Baptist Church, where she was a member of the adult ladies Sunday School Class, the WMU, and active with the nursery and Vacation Bible School. Survivors include her husband, Joe C. Smallwood, Warrenton, GA, her daughters, Teresa (Mark) Chalker, Warrenton, GA, and Amy Jo (Kevin) McGill, Sandersville, GA, her son, Russell (Geneva) Smallwood, Warrenton, GA, two sisters, Mary Frances Price, Macon, GA, and Louise Raspas, Black Mountain, NC, three grandchildren, Shae Smallwood, Zack Smallwood, and Kyle McGill, three step grandchildren, Lisa Jenkins, Adam Headrix, and Vernon Songass, three step great grandchildren Katlyn Headrix, Jalyn Jenkins, and Jace Jenkins. A grandson, Adam Chalker preceded Mrs. Smallwood in death. Pallbearers will be Jack Smallwood, Jr. Carl McDonald, Bobby McDonald, James Johnson, Larry Johnson, Doug Ellis, Mike McDonald, & Bennie May. Honorary Pallbearers will the men of Long Creek Baptist Church. Friends may call at the residence of Mark and Teresa Chalker 1223 Adam Chalker Road Warrenton, GA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 P. M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
