Leopoldine Stump (AUGUSTA, Ga.)

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Leopoldine Vogler Stump, 83, wife of the late CSM Wallace E. Stump US Army Ret. entered into rest Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Medical College of Georgia. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Inurnment in Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum. Leopoldine Vogler was born in Czechoslovokia on April 11, 1924 and left to come to America in 1951, she travel by ship to the United States during her voyage she worked on the staff of the Labor Inspector which was a international refugee organization under the command of Lt. Col. (Ret.) A. Duncan Johnstone escort officer. She left Bremerhaven, Germany on October 23, 1951 and arrived in New York on Nov. 2, 1951. She married CSM Wallace E. Stump on January 4, 1952 and received her naturalization in Kansas in 1955. Mr. and Mrs. Stump belonged to a number of golfing organizations to include the Hole in One in Augusta. Mrs. Stump is preceded in death by her parents Vincenc and Anna Vogler. Survivors include her sister Geli Heger and her brother Robert Vogler and nieces and nephews.
