Willa Lee Fordham (BURNSVILLE, N.C.)

BURNSVILLE, N.C. - Mrs. Willa Lee Fordham, age 81, died Wednesday, February 7th, 2007 after a long illness. She was born August 4th, 1925 to the late Leonard L. and Lillie May Smith Hendrix of the Middleground Community. Mrs. Fordham retired after 25 years of service with the Singer Sewing Machine Company in Augusta. She was a member of Mill Creek Primitive Baptist Church and preceded in death by a brother, Earl Hendrix. Survivors include her husband, Mr. J. Lannis Fordham of Burnsville, NC; three sons. Shelton Waters of Loganville, Wayne Waters and Dennis Waters, both of Greenwood, SC, three step daughters; Barbara Green of Burnsville, NC, Lanette Messel of Douglasville, and Rachael Price of Florence, SC, a sister Roberta Neal of Millen and two brothers, J.L. Hendrix of Savannah and Wyman Hendrix of Statesboro. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Jack Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Johnnie Neal, David Hendrix, Lavan Hendrix, Kasey Hendrix, Blake Addison and Jason Price. Friends may sign the on line register book at www.joineranderson.com .
