Albert Gunter (AIKEN, S.C.)

AIKEN, S.C. - Albert 'Al' Tracy Gunter, Sr., 36, of Aiken, died Tuesday, February 6, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM in the Shellhouse Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend David Harper will officiate. Interment will follow in the Clearwater Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Williston Rescue and Aiken Rescue. A lifelong resident of Aiken, Al was a paramedic with the Williston Rescue Squad. He was also a member of Aiken Rescue, Aiken County HAZMAT, SC DMAT, taught EMT classes at Aiken Technical College, formerly with the Couchton Fire Department, an Instructor with the Aiken City Fire Camp, and one of the first to do a child safety seat inspection with Aiken County. Survivors include his beloved wife, Melanie Williams Gunter; a daughter, Emily Faith Gunter; a son, Albert Tracy Gunter, Jr.,; his parents, Martin and Jean Pervis Gunter, Aiken; a brother, Anthony Gunter, Aiken, nieces Elizabeth and Caroline Gunter; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pervis, Langley; paternal grandmother, Eula Wood; and his in-laws, Robert and Carol Williams, N. Augusta, and Melvin and Alice Minitor, Langley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Williston Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 151, Williston, SC 29853.
