W.C. Herring (MODOC, S.C.)

MODOC, S.C. - Mr. William Clifton (W.C.) Herring, 87, beloved husband of Angelle B. Herring, entered into rest Friday, January 26, 2007 at Edgefield County Hospital. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 29, 2007 at 3 P.M. at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Cartin and Dr. Rev. William Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. W. C. was the son of the late Clifton Herring and Zora Parkman Herring. His mother passed away when he was 3 years old and he was subsequently reared by his late step-mother Pearl Herring. W.C. served in World War II in the United States Army. He retired as an electrician at Fort Gordon. He was a member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church where he served as Treasurer for 34 years and a Deacon for numerous years. He is survived by his wife and his loving family who thought and cared for him as a father and grandfather. Pallbearers are Jerry Bass, Greg Kendrick, John Byrd, AndrewRichardson, Jr., Brian Murrell, Larry Miller, and Larry Hammond.
