William Coyle Embry (THOMSON, Ga.)

THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. William Coyle Embry, age 93, of Apollo Drive, beloved husband of Mrs. Kathryn Embry died Saturday, January 20, 2007 in the Thomson Manor Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2007 in the Thomson First Baptist Church Chapel, with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Cemetery with Masonic graveside services. Pallbearers will be Christopher Embry, Johnny Willis, Jr., Barney Hamlin, Michael Embry, Bobby Jones, and Joe McCommons. A native of Danielsville, Ga., Mr. Embry was a son of the late John T. and Lucy Peach Embry; he was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Europe during World War II. He retired from Thomson Company as a Stock Clerk after more than 44 years of service and was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the A. J. Miller Masonic Lodge No. 204 F & AM, and a member of Thomson First Baptist Church for more than 59 years. Mr. Embry was preceded indeath by his parents; two brothers, O. D. Embry and James R. Embry; a sister, Lucille Embry; and is survived by wife of 59 years, Mrs. Kathryn Hartley Embry of Thomson; two sons, William C. (Billy) and Ann Embry, Jr. of Valdosta, Ga. and Keith Embry and Vivian Neely of Clarkesville, Tenn.; sister, Ruth Davis of Toomsboro, Ga.; five grandchildren, William Christopher and Valerie Embry of Carrolton, Ga., Robert Neal Embry of Birmingham, Ala., Debra Dianne and Barney Hamlin of Fitzgerald, Ga., Johnny (Bo) and Lisa Willis, Jr. of Conyers, and Kimberly Shiver of Hahira, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The Embry family will be at the residence, 315 Apollo Drive in Thomson and will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2007 at the funeral home.
