The Super Bowl champion New York Giants will face Tim Tebow, Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.
The league released its full exhibition schedule Wednesday.
The Atlanta Falcons will play home games against Baltimore and Cincinnati and road games at Miami and Jacksonville.
The Falcons will play the Bengals on Aug. 16, the Dolphins on Aug. 25 and the Jaguars on Aug. 30. A date for the game against the Ravens has not been set. The game against the Bengals will be televised on Fox, beginning at 8 p.m.
Peyton Manning’s first chance to suit up in a game for the Broncos comes in Week 1, when Denver plays at Chicago some time from Aug. 9-13. Manning, cut after 14 years with the Indianapolis Colts, could play against two teams that courted him in free agency, because the Broncos play host to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 3, and are at the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4.
RAMS: Wide receiver Torry Holt signed a one-day contract so he could retire with the St. Louis Rams, where he was a key part of a Super Bowl champion and the Greatest Show on Turf.
He’d like to be remembered as a player who gave it his all and had fun doing it.
“I want my legacy to be a guy that respected the game of football, a guy that respected his teammates, his coaches, challenged guys on a day-to-day basis, whether I said something or didn’t say anything, and just loved playing,” Holt said. “This being a childhood dream of mine, how many of us can say that we’re doing what we dreamed of doing?”
Holt was a seven-time Pro Bowler with St. Louis from 1999-2008.
COURTS: A judge rejected Reebok’s bid to overturn his ban on its sale of Tebow New York Jets jerseys Wednesday, saying the public can wait a few weeks for Nike Tebow jerseys to show up in stores.
U.S. District Judge Kevin Castel said Nike Inc. had shown a “probability of success” in its quest to permanently halt Reebok sales of Tebow jerseys and T-shirts during a daylong hearing that follows the filing of a lawsuit last week. Castel temporarily blocked Reebok from selling 6,000 Tebow-Jets jerseys and 25,000 T-shirts a week ago.
