NFL commissioner Roger Goodell and NFL Players Association executive director DeMaurice Smith both are slated to participate in the league's latest round of labor negotiations.
Speaking after testifying before a House subcommittee Tuesday about a legal case involving two Minnesota Vikings players, Goodell told The Associated Press he would be present for today's talks in New York about a new collective bargaining agreement.
Goodell has not attended all of the sessions the league and union have held so far.
REDSKINS: Owner Dan Snyder says his team has "let everyone down."
In a rare, in-season interview with reporters, Snyder said at a charity event that the team is embarrassed by its 2-5 start and hopes to turn things around soon.
SEAHAWKS: Cut ties with Edgerrin James , releasing the backup running back who never provided the pop Seattle hoped to get when it signed the 31-year-old in late August.
BROWNS: Coach Eric Mangini is not offering any details about the team's unexplained dismissal of his friend, general manager George Kokinis .

- No longer needed, kicker Billy Cundiff was waived by Cleveland.
Cundiff filled in while Phil Dawson missed five games with a pulled right calf muscle. Cundiff made all six field-goal tries for the Browns (1-7).
Dawson returned for last week's game against Chicago and had his extra point blocked in a 30-6 loss to the Chicago Bears.
PATRIOTS: Defensive end Mike Wright could get more playing time after Jarvis Green reportedly underwent knee surgery that is expected to sideline him for at least one game.
Wright leads New England with four sacks.
CHIEFS: Were awarded wide receiver Chris Chambers , who was waived by San Diego, via a waiver claim. The Chargers waived Chambers on Monday.
BILLS: Starting cornerback Terrence McGee had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to repair minor damage and expects to be out for about two weeks.
