Bengals coordinator to coach today in showdown despite wife 's sudden death

Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer is expected to coach the team in Baltimore today, three days after the unexpected death of his wife.

The team said Saturday that Zimmer will be accompanied by his father, his son and one of his daughters.

Vikki Zimmer died Thursday night in Cincinnati. A cause of death has not been announced. The Zimmers were married for 27 years.

Mike Zimmer is in his second season with the Bengals, who face the Ravens today in an early season showdown between division rivals. Both teams are 3-1, and the winner will gain sole possession of first place in the AFC North.

Zimmer's defense has been a key part of the Bengals' success, giving up just 19 points per game.

COLTS: Bob Sanders traveled with Indianapolis to Tennessee and could play in tonight's game against the Titans.

Sanders (knee) has been listed as doubtful this week. He has not played in a game all season.

JETS: Wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery is questionable for Monday's game against Miami after missing practice for the second day in a row.

Cotchery didn't practice on Saturday because of a hamstring injury. He has 23 catches for 356 yards and a touchdown.

Cornerback Lito Sheppard was limited Saturday and listed as doubtful with a strained right quadriceps. Cornerback Donald Strickland (right ankle) is out and hasn't practiced since being injured against New England in Week 2.

Safety Kerry Rhodes (knee) and right tackle Damien Woody (right foot) are questionable. Rhodes was limited in practice, while Woody sat out.

SEAHAWKS: Signed offensive tackle Kyle Williams from the practice squad.

The move adds depth to a depleted position for today's game against Jacksonville. The team released defensive tackle Michael Bennett to make room on the active roster for Williams.

Williams was added last weekend before Seattle lost at Indianapolis. The team then put him back on the practice squad this week.

REDSKINS: Signed punter Glenn Pakulak to the 53-man roster for today's game against Carolina.

Pakulak was promoted from the practice squad and will handle the punting and holding duties in place of Hunter Smith . Smith pulled a groin muscle during last week's win over Tampa Bay.
