DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT: November 1992; chemotherapy and radiation
HER STORY: Miller discovered a suspicious knot in her breast while performing a self-examination. She didn’t waste any time going to the doctor or beginning treatment less than one month after her diagnosis.
Since her bout with breast cancer, Miller, 60, has dedicated time to giving back to the community. She has volunteered her cosmetology services to other women.
HER ADVICE: “Become knowledgeable about all things that they have out there for cancer patients,” she said.
