Instagram competition

In honor of its 75th anniversary, the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art will present #GertrudeHerbert75, a competition and art exhibition generated by the photo-sharing application Instagram.

The public is invited to participate. Through Jan. 4, participants are invited to capture images that highlight the architecture of Ware’s Folly and its gardens, classes, contemporary art or any other aspect of the institute that inspires them. The competition will culminate in a juried exhibition of 75 prints, each taken using Instagram, that will be on display Jan. 11-31 in the third-floor galleries.

The prints will be available for purchase via silent auction during the anniversary celebration events.

To participate, follow @gertrudeherbert on Instagram. Now through Jan. 4, capture images of Gertrude Herbert, filter the image and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #GertrudeHerbert75. Participants may also geotag the photo’s location to Gertrue Herbert Institute of Art. For more information, call the institute at (706) 722-5495.
