During the Strike Out Stroke event, representatives of Doctors Hospital and Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics will provide stroke information and perform free blood pressure checks.
Stroke survivor Mary Morrison, WJBF anchor and host of Good Morning Augusta, will throw out the first pitch, and Augusta-Richmond County Commissioner Joe Bowles will give a proclamation.

Area Publix stores have raised $16,302 for the Georgia Health Sciences Children’s Medical Center through an annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in-store fundraiser.
The funds, which were raised from May 26 through June 16, will help purchase equipment and technology upgrades at the children’s hospital.
This is 21st year the store has participated in the fundraiser.
The 154-bed Children’s Medical Center is the second-largest children’s hospital in Georgia.
Applications are now being accepted for the Miss Augusta Scholarship Pageant, Miss Augusta Outstanding Teen, Miss Savannah River, Miss Savannah River Outstanding Teen, Wee, Miss, Tiny, Little, Pre-Teen, Junior Teen and Teen Miss Augusta pageants.
The Miss Augusta/Miss Savannah River and Outstanding Teen pageants will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 16 at the Greenbrier High School Auditorium, 5114 Riverwood Parkway, Evans.
The Miss Augusta Scholarship Pageant is open to women ages 17-24 who reside in Richmond, Columbia, Lincoln, McDuffie, Warren and Burke counties and are full-times students or employed full time in one of these counties.
The Miss Savannah River pageant is open to women ages 17-24 who are Georgia residents.
Deadline for entries is Aug. 25.
Pageants for girls ages 2-17 will be held at 3 p.m. Aug. 25 at Greenbrier High School.

The program is open to fifth- through 12th-graders.
