- To raise money for burn victims, the Southeastern Firefighters Burn Foundation has aluminum-can recycling trailers at: Doctors Hospital Burn Center, Wheeler Road; Daniel Village, behind Village Deli; Richmond County fire stations at Walton Way Extension, Old Waynesboro Road and Windsor Spring Road; and Columbia County fire stations at Desoto Road, Gibbs Road, Furys Ferry Road, Oakley Pirkle Road, and Ray Owens Road; (706) 650-2876

- Augusta-Richmond County Landfill, 4330 Deans Bridge Road, Blythe, (706) 592-3200, has a drop-off facility that takes glass (no plate glass; needs to be separated by color -- clear, brown or green), metal of any type, electronics, all types of paper, plastic (No. 1 and No. 2), cardboard, automotive fluids and batteries

- Sonoco, 1525 Government Road, (706) 733-7757, takes paper, except parchment

- Smurfit Stone Recycling, 1311 Walker St., (706) 722-9603, takes office paper waste, newspapers, cardboard, cans and plastic bottles
