The Augusta Partnership for Children Inc. is sponsoring a grief symposium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Enterprise Mill Starch Room, next to Fat Man's Cafe. The event is free.
The symposium will bring together individuals and agencies working with families who have experienced a fetal or infant loss and want to learn more about the grieving process, share experiences and network with others.

Concerts with a Cause will feature Symphony Orchestra Augusta for two free concerts -- 3 and 6 p.m. Sunday -- at Saint John United Methodist Church, 736 Greene St. A reception will be held between concerts.
Mack Wilberg, conductor of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will direct a concert of his compositions for chorus and orchestra.
Also performing are The University of South Carolina Aiken Concert Choir, The Davidson Fine Arts Chorale and The Saint John Choir.
The Jessye Norman School of the Arts is accepting applications for the 2011-2012 school year. Rising sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders may audition for the free after-school program, which meets from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday during the school year.
There will be instruction in dance, drama, creative writing, music and visual art and the option to pursue particular mediums of performing and visual arts in their second and third years in the program.

Good Foot Walk
Get on the Good Foot Walk will be held Saturday, May 7, to benefit the James Brown Family Foundation music summer camp, J.B. Academy of Musik Pupils, for ages 5-12.
Registration is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at Augusta Common. The walk begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $5 for ages 9 and older, $1 for ages 5 to 8 and free for ages 4 and under.
Family activities after the walk include concerts, jumping beans and face painting. Wear your favorite James Brown T-shirt.
