The following Richmond County students graduated from the Fort Gordon Youth Challenge Academy March 5:

Named to high list

Anne Maxwell Douglass and Lucy Gray Myers Douglass , daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin L. Douglass III, of Augusta, have been named to the high list for the first semester of the 2010-11 school year at Episcopal High School, Alexandria, Va.

Student has FLAIR

Joseph Glass , a French student at Augusta Preparatory School, has been named the 2011 FLAIR Outstanding Student of the Year by the Foreign Language Alliance for International Rapport.

In ABAC contest

Andy Whisnant , of Hephzibah, will compete March 31 for the title of Mr. ABAC at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Tifton, Ga.

Finishes drug course

Richmond County Sheriff's Deputy Donnie Nathaniel Chavis has completed a weeklong drug recognition instructor course at the Georgia Public Safety Training Center located in Forsyth, Ga.

Earn nursing degrees

Adam Morell and Keisha Johnson , both of Augusta, have earned bachelor of science in nursing degrees from Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, Utah.

In honor society

Heather McCrackin , of Augusta, has been inducted into the Alpha Lambda Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Lone Star College, Kingwood, Texas.

Attend career expo

High School students Lynda Polite, Kalin Smoot and Anthony Wilson , of Cross Creek, and Da'Zja Lawson , of the Academy of Richmond County, recently attended the Construction Education Foundation of Georgia Career Expo in Atlanta.

Military news

- Army Pvt. Katrina L. Hogues , a 2008 graduate of Cross Creek High School and daughter of Tony Hogues, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pfc. Tammy V. McCladoie , a 2001 graduate from Lucy C. Laney High School and daughter of Tommie Smith and Terry Waters, both of Augusta, has graduated from Basic Combat Training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.
