DAV services

The Disabled American Veterans Mobile Service Office will be in Augusta on Saturday.

The office on wheels will be at Augusta Harley-Davidson, 4200 Belair Frontage Road, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a news release from the Disabled American Veterans.

A DAV national service officer will provide counseling and claim-filing assistance to veterans.

Democrats meet

The Richmond County Democratic Party will hold its monthly breakfast meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Holiday Inn, 2155 Gordon Highway. The program will feature DuBose Porter, a candidate for the party's gubernatorial nomination in Tuesday's primary election.

Riverkeepers

The 2010 Augusta annual membership meeting for the Savannah Riverkeepers will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 29, at Julian Smith Barbecue Pit, 3 Milledge Road. The potluck will provide a main meat, while those attending will provide side dishes and desserts.

Entry fee is $5 or a covered dish. The top three finalists for the Teenkeeper Research Paper will be voted on and one student will win a laptop.
