Music, pig races and more highlight Banjo-B-Que Music Festival

Tickets are still available for the Papa Joe’s Banjo-B-Que Music Festival that continues today. Gates open at 10:30 a.m. Performers include Old Crow Medicine Show, Steep Canyon Rangers, Sarah Jarosz and many others. Winners of the barbecue competition will also be announced today.

For the children there are pig races, the Pork Chop trained pig revue, a petting zoo and face painting, and the park’s playground and splash pad are open during the festival.

Jeff Robbins has been to all seven Banjo-B-Que festivals. “This is the best family event,” he said Friday before making his way to the main stage to find a seat for the Willie Nelson performance. “Willie’s been a favorite of mine for a long time, so it would be hard to miss that.”
