SECURITY AT THE Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building is a farce. Officials and employees slip in rear and side entrances while the public is directed to enter through scanners at the front entrance. Unless everyone enters and gets cleared at the same checkpoint, you have no security. The Augusta Commission should set the example and enter through the public entrance.

WHAT WILL CAUSE our country to fail is cynicism and distrust for your neighbors. Even President Reagan was known for “trust, but verify.” Listen to your internal common sense that you were raised with; not the bloviating talking heads on TV who are paid to gin you up and make you angry. Personally, I have faith that this country can survive if Washington is revamped to meet the demands of the people (not the lobby), but I also think it can be done peaceably.

A PLEA TO OUR Augusta Commission: We have an opportunity to choose the person who will guide our county forward and to improvement. Please consider each of the administrator candidates impartially as a business owner would – not using the “old boy” or “who you know” system that the commission has used in the past. It’s time to have someone who can take Richmond County forward and out of the era of incompetence, waste and fraud.

I LOVE ANIMALS and have had dogs and cats since my childhood. I detest the killing of dogs and cats at the animal shelters. I wish these protesters would be as vocal about the killing of the unborn taking place all over the USA.

PLEASE STOP ALL THIS illegal immigration. Study your history. This is how countries fall. It will happen to us, and the ones who will suffer the most will be the poor who keep voting in the people who are allowing this.

WHY NOT A LAW allowing businesses to install a cellphone blocking device as long as they post it to the public at the door that such a device is in use? Let the customers decide whether not having one available to be annoying to others around them and rude at the checkout is such a big deal they don’t want to do business there. Let those who firmly believe cellphone usage is out of control and a pain to be around have a place we can enjoy doing business once again. The legal system thought that blocking the signal is against the law somehow restricts our rights.

Last ranter, I totally agree.

You can get blockers via the internet, or could, that block cell signals within a certain radius. However illegal, it would be my pleasure to shut the phone off of some fool driving unconscious with one to their ear, a loudmouth 5 tables away in a restaurant, a cashier with one to their ear, the doofus texting in the theater, etc.

I'm not sure what this individual was doing, but I noticed an arrest a few weeks/months back of someone in violation of FCC law. I wondered if it may have been a cell blocker or the like.

Now that the votes are in

I hope many of you noted how slim some of the margins were.

Think now without Voter ID how it could have gone.

Think now about ILLEGALS getting ID's and how it CAN go in Nov.

"Ocean crash kills teen pilot

"Ocean crash kills teen pilot seeking world record"

There is not enough emphasis on worthwhile pursuits anymore. Lives are being wasted.

Suggestions for youngest-to-fly, youngest-to-[whatever] crowd:

Stop wasting your lives with plane/balloon/hiking expeditions.

1) Find a cure for cancer
2) Find a way to employ at least 100 people under current Democrat party anti-business, anti-employment policies.
3) Heck, find a cure for any disease.
4) Find a way to curb liberal/anti-Christian thought.
5) Find a solution to the never-ending Arab-Israeli conflict.
6) Etc., etc.

Stop it with the flights/swimming/boating/running around the world nonsense. Gadzooks.

Why are all these illegals coming to this racist, sexist, homophobic, bigotted Country??

Shouldn't they be doing the opposite?

It's called "Rules for Radicals"!! They're intentionally overloading the system; so this is actually working. Why would THEY, want to stop it?? They've been doing this for MANY years now, but decided to put the plan on steriods!! Why? Maybe because their "savior" only has two years left, and they MUST do something radical in those two years!! They NEED this change to happen, now!! They're running out of time, so they're speeding up the process!!

Arizon execution takes two hours!!

""He has been gasping and snorting for more than an hour," Wood's lawyers wrote in a legal filing demanding that the courts stop it. "He is still alive."

Yes, and my response would be "Maybe, but his victims are still dead!! So the execution shall continue until he is as well. Have a wonderful day."

With all this talk about executions, maybe we should bring back hanging!! Seems they didn't have so many problems with that method!! Then, these lawyers can request to know where the rope came from, which wouldn't be hard to reveal!!

Also, some anti-death penalty advocate stated "This is now becoming a national crisis. We must not continue to ALLOW States to do whatever they want."

So, according to this fellow, States can only do what the federal government "Allows" them to do!! Hhhhmmmm, very interesting!! I do believe this same attitude resulted in 620,000+ deaths at one point in history!!

What the real "crisis" is, is people MURDERING people everyday on the streets!!

In the old days, if a man was hung and something went wrong, ie rope broke etc, he was immediately released and presumed innocent. I agree bring back the hanging or the firing squad. Hey crank up old sparky for that matter. Also lets be nice to the thugs and give them a choice

AC

FOX is the only news outlet that seems to be continuing the quest to free our Marine in the Mexican jail.

Why are there no stories in the AC now and again as a reminder to people how this soldier has been forgotten by this administration while it gladly handed over 5 dangerous men for a traitor (who will most likely be judged just an AWOL to save O's bacon)?

Good comment, Stuaby

Young folks today are more interested in making a UTUBE video of their fights, conquests, or other nonsense than applying themselves to something productive and worthwhile.

"This man conducted a

"This man conducted a horrific murder and you guys are going, let's worry about the drugs," said Richard Brown, the brother-in-law of Debbie Dietz. "Why didn't they give him a bullet, why didn't we give him Drano?"

I agree 100%!! He's dead and justice has been served!! My sympathy lies with the FAMILY, not him!!

Wood looked at the family members as he delivered his final words, saying he was thankful for Jesus Christ as his savior. At one point, he smiled at them, which angered the family.

"I take comfort knowing today my pain stops, and I said a prayer that on this or any other day you may find peace in all of your hearts and may God forgive you all," Wood said.

Did anyone else noticed he said today HIS pain stops; not the families!! He also stated "God forgive YOU ALL" not him!! This man was a sociapath; and continued this to his death!! He was trying to rub salt in their wounds!! Unbelievable!!

"These procedures are unreliable and the consequences are horrific," said Megan McCracken, of the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law's Death Penalty Clinic."

Unreliable? He's dead, isn't he? Pretty reliable if you ask me!! I also see she is from Berkeley, the left wing haven!!

"Wood argued he and the public have a right to know details about the state's method for lethal injections, the qualifications of the executioner and who makes the drugs. Such demands for greater transparency have become a new legal tactic in death penalty cases."

Bringing back hanging, would resolved all this!!

"The governor said medical and eyewitness accounts indicated that Wood did not suffer and he died in a lawful manner in which justice was served."

I agree!! I've been given anesthesia and sedated numerous times; and on one occassion during sedation, the doctor's said I woke up and actually fought with them. They said "You're really, really strong. We had to bring in a whole crew to hold you down; and had to give you twice the amount we normally give." Guess what? I don't remember a single second of it.

"Wood then turned his attention toward Debbie Dietz, who was trying to telephone for help. Wood grabbed her by the neck and put his gun to her chest. She pleaded with him to spare her life. An employee heard Wood say, "I told you I was going to do it. I have to kill you." He then called her an expletive and fired two shots in her chest."

When you find yourself wanting to have sympathy for Wood, think about what this young woman went through!! This was premeditated and brutal!! This man got exactly what he deserved!!

A RANT ABOUT A LIBERAL LIE

Liberals have been promoting the Myth of Reagan closing down Mental wards for years and many are buying the outright lie.

READ AND RE-EDUCATE YOURSELF

The blaming of Ronald Reagan for the destruction the mental heath system is noting more than typical Liberal history revisionism to cover up a growing list of liberal mistakes.

In the late 1960s, the idea that the mentally ill were not so different was gaining acceptance with the "liberated" generation.

These Touchy-Feeley Reformers dreamed of taking the mentally ill out of the large institutions and housing them in community-based residences, where they could live more productive and fulfilling lives.

Well we see where that Liberal Pipe Dream ended up now, don't we? We gave the inch and the concept was adulterated way beyond the original scope or intent.

Simultaneously, the ACLU was pushing a mental health patients right agenda that resulted in O’Connor v. Donaldson (see below) In 1967, Gov. Ronald Reagan signed the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act (LPS), which went into effect in 1969 and quickly became a national model.

ALL HIS LAW DID WAS

Prohibited forced medication or extended hospital stays without a judicial hearing. As Governor not as President, he signed a bill that kept people from being dumped in mental wards and medicated or kept in a mental ward without a court hearing.

So NO, Reagan, didn't close mental hospitals or put anyone on the street. Progressive (LIBERAL) views on mental health, a misguided ACLU, and politicians who "know better" did it. Then finally (the last year Reagan was governor), O’Connor v. Donaldson, 422 U.S. 563 (1975), the Supreme Court found a constitutional right to liberty for mental health patients: "There is...no constitutional basis for confining such persons involuntarily if they are dangerous to no one." With this constitutional recognition, the practice of mental health law became a process of limiting and defining the power of the state to detain and treat.

The result was a codification of mental health rights that have done away with non-voluntary commitment except in extreme cases.

Execute

What is wrong with a gun shot to the head....

I wish that they would report the CRIME for the death sentence B4 telling how the execution failed....many would stop reading.

Especially when it involves innocent children.

I said it before

The ANTI-DEATH PENALTY CROWD are to blame for this screwed up execution.

Their direct handicapping of states from using or acquiring the correct medications for executions lead to this and the other screw.

Before their meddling these sentences were seamless.

I'd say use a 45cal 220 grain Hollow Point loaded sub-sonic, applied to a cranial surface, but we have seen how easy this administration was able to clamp down on Ammo supplies.

Absolutely correct!! If left wing liberal's can't get something they disagree with, banned outright; they will circumvent the system, attacking every single aspect they can, until reaching THEIR desired results!! They actually WANT more "botched" executions, because with each one, their case get's stronger for banning all executions!!

This is going to backfire on them; because many of the very conservative states, are and will continue to bring back the old methods, such as electric chair!!

Long Posts

I appreciate the ability to respond to articles in the AC but shouldn't responses be limited? When the response is longer than the article and/or the response has nothing to do with the article (Rants & Raves) this is absurd.
