RANT TO CONGRESS FOR taking so long to solve the Veterans Administration problem. Why are they discussing more funding? The budget to run the VA is astronomical already, much of it wasted buying end of the year nonsense in order to keep getting the same amount allocated to them for the next year. They spend billions in bonuses when many of those bonuses are not earned except by using deceptive tactics. Allow monetarily penalties on infractions; fire those who commit crimes or deceit; create a follow-up system for veterans who come to make appointments; demand weekly and monthly progress reports. If necessary, set up an automated sign-up system that every veteran logs into and can track on their own; and make sure the bonuses are earned and are a reasonable amount. These are common sense practices that don’t cost a single dime and could get the job done. I am so tired of the government making a major convoluted non-solution that wastes more money and accomplishes nothing.

WE HAVE IMMIGRATION laws, but they are not being followed. We need border security. This is un-American. We don’t need any new laws; we need to follow the ones we have.

LET’S GET RID OF THE giggling, laughing and dancing and do the news and weather like professionals like you’re all supposed to be.

PLEASE KEEP THOSE suits coming against Project Jackson components. So it will delay this mess until I die. I have 14 years before I hit 100, and I intend to spend all of them down on the Greeneway.

OUR US EMBASSY IN Baghdad Iraq is right in the middle of terrorist country. We should not have an embassy there. We should have one phone booth with a big sign on it saying US Embassy. “Got a problem? Call us.”

HERE WE GO AGAIN. Another officer from the military was appointed to a government office, the VA, to fix the problem. Everyone knows that officers are politicians. If you want a problem solved, hire a command sergeant major with combat experience.

THANKS TO COLUMBIA County for putting on a good Fourth of July fest at Evans Towne Center, I want to also thank all the smokers who continued to smoke even after being told by the police smoking is banned in the park. My wife who is on oxygen went into respiratory distress and was taken by ambulance to Doctors Hospital.

You'd Better Check Your VA Rant

Oh you citizen served, of the 99% that Demand the Military serve your wars of choice so you can wave that 'Poser Patriotic' flag, while Totally Ignoring The Issues Of Those That Serve You, decades now and wars from especially this past decade plus:
Tens of Thousands of Veterans have died over these decades of, by those 99% served, Poser Patriots, ignoring and denying the many issues from Test Vets to PTS to Agent Orange to Gulf War Syndrome to recent Burn Pit Contamination's and that's an extremely short list, and now those served are recognizing deaths in these recent 'scandal?' times. Which were finally being addressed by the Shinseki Veterans Administration and with help from this entire Executive Administrations Cabinet when then can under their charges, certainly Not By The Peoples Reps In Congress or State Legislatures, obstructing in the budgets needed!!

'Congress {Conservatives in Both House's, DeJa-Vu!!} Scrambling to Lower Cost of Bill to Fix Veterans' Health Care'

“Why in 2009 were we still using paper?” VA Assistant Secretary Tommy Sowers “When we came in, there was no plan to change that; we’ve been operating on a six month wait for over a decade.” 27 March 2013

There is only one branch of the government that's been consistent, now for over five yrs., in helping us Veterans, long ignored or denied issues by those served, as well as Military personal and their Families, the Executive Branch and it's Cabinet, because those served through their representatives won't and wouldn't previously!! Trying finally to build what the Country promised, decades and wars from ignored their responsibility, and the conservative ideology is to privatize, bringing in all the problems and bottom line corporate executive mentality, for corporate profit off the peoples treasury. They don't control the Countries purse strings and the VA is the Responsibility of the Country Served, the Poser Patriots who use Veterans as political pawns!!

“We are dealing with veterans, not procedures—with their problems, not ours.” —General Omar Bradley, First Administrator of the Veterans Administration

Ahhh yes, it's just so easy to, Peoples Representatives, Rubber Stamp, wealth enhancing through investments, War Costs that are all borrowed, no offsets mentioned, on our credit with interest payments and in these recent two kept off the Countries books till Executive Administrations changed!! Then use same, Political Poser Patriotic Theater, for the decades of 'scandals' created by ignoring the Veterans of who served in and the issues from and doing patch work on which create more 'scandals' to use, including making sure the agency stays years behind the technology advances causing extremely costly problems that are then obstructed in fixing!

Meanwhile, DeJa- Vu all over again, the Veterans Bill sits in the House going no where!! They got the Gen. "Mission Accomplished" , their, problem solved!!!

Poser Patriots, the 99% Served, especially conservative ideology, like it that way, been so for decades and wars from continuing the stand for them flag waving patriotic free wars, Afghanistan and Iraq still not paid for, and ignoring the results from. Decades of under funding, while ignoring many issues, the peoples responsibility the VA. Still grossly under funded, two tax cuts with these wars, in just recent history as Shinseki, with help from the entire Executive Branch, sought to bring it into the 21st century and as the people served promised from beginning, budget still mostly borrowed!!

Sen. Bernie Sanders told Conservatives: “If you can’t afford to take care of your veterans, than don’t go war. These people are bearing the brunt of what war is about, We have a moral obligation to support them.” February, 26th, 2014

Nor the results from, DeJa-Vu all over again:
With those like a Miller, in the House holding attack only hearings, the press should be asking him what is done after the so many attack hearings, 'nothing' and if legislation it's never funded, his job to make sure the agencies are helped by the people represented, and Burr as minority using attack only questions, in the Senate, both ranking members of Veterans Affairs Committee's, as leads in the continued obstruction!! Along with the National Veterans orgs, supporting same types, decades long not demanding the Country served Sacrifice as they demand those few serving do while not supporting us Veterans on the issues that are ignored or denied exists in same fighting for what the Country has always promised and those Poser Patriots blame the VA their responsibility to fully fund and pay for the flag waving wars as well as the results!!

"Reid: House GOP holding up VA talks"

And Who Says Politics Doesn't Play From Within the Agencies to the Branches
Especially to the Legislative to keep the costs, or create costly 'scandals', way down in the VA.

Oh and they got Bonuses too!! While, once again and for decades, nothing was done by Congress to help the VA but the usual, underfunding or seeking cuts to the budgets and especially nothing by the conservative controlled congresses under the bushco, just as they, countries Poser Patriots and the Media, wanted while waging two long wars!!

Prior too this present Executive and Veterans administrations:

October 23, 2008 - And now VA investigators are trying to figure out if this one-time survey points to the likelihood that documents have been improperly destroyed for months or even years.

"Whatever this problem is, it didn't just start in the last two weeks," said Dave Autry, a spokesman for Disabled American Veterans. "It'd be unreasonable to assume that. Who knows what's been destroyed."

The documents, which didn't have duplicates at the VA, would have been critical in deciding veteran pension and disability claims. As a result, many veterans are asking whether their delayed or denied claims were affected by lost paperwork. read more>>>

Central Business District

The Metro Market by Sprint opens next month at 851 Broad street.. Hopefully the leaders of Augusta will take full advantage of the property being located right next to the Augusta common.. The movies at the common/candle light jazz series can both use additional promotion and they need to create additional events..
https://www.facebook.com/MetroMarketAugusta

A new sushi restaurant(Sole) will open along Artist Row at 1033 Broad in early 2015...
http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/business/local-business/2014-07-16/dow...

Downtown is quickly becoming the top spot for dining in metro Augusta. The new businesses include the Whiskey Bar Kitchen, Farmhaus, Boar's Head, Craft & Vine, Brown Bag, O'Donovans Irish Pub, etc... The Craft & Vine restaurant is probably the most trendy and hip spot in the CSRA... The ambience makes you feel like your in a much larger city like the Midtown/Buckhead areas of Atlanta..

"Allow monetarily penalties on infractions;"

Since the VA is funded solely by the Federal government, if there were penalties, they would pay money to the Federal government.

That makes no sense.

And then more veterans would be denied care.

Another reason why that

Another reason why that wouldn't be appropriate-

In the private sector, a hospital can raise rates if they don't have enough revenue to meet their expenses.

The VA is stuck with what Congress gives it. They have been short-funded for over 30 years, they could give better care if Congress would give them more money and build more facilities.

Now we have two

experts:
Countyman and now Cage Creek - about all the new businesses popping up all over the CSRA - I have one question, especially for Countyman as he has been at it for a long time - where do you get all this information from?
And Cage Creek - are you following in Countman's footsteps?

Bridgestone is located in Graniteville.....

Private developers will continue to look at the entire metro and not one county. The CSRA will never be able to reach it's full potential unless every county works together.. People should be happy if Richmond County is attracting private growth and not feel any type of resentment.. The Bridgestone expansion is one of the best economic developments in the entire CSRA, but it's located in Graniteville..

It's great to see numerous local restaurants thriving in other parts of RC besides the Surrey Center.. Those restaurants(Frog Hollow, La Maison, 5 O'Clock Bistro, Finch & Fifth, etc) help create the local culture and visitors love the unique things about each individual city.. Summerville and Midtown are the next in line and the city should focus on bringing new businesses to Monte Sano, Kings Way, Central Ave, and Wrightsboro..

Truly Worried.. Multiple sources...

Thank goodness someone has some backbone

LONDON, July 19 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister David Cameron said on Saturday that if it were proven that Ukrainian separatists were behind the downing of a Malaysian jet carrying 298 passengers, Russia would be to blame for having destabilized the country.

"If this is the case then we must be clear what it means: this is a direct result of Russia destabilizing a sovereign state, violating its territorial integrity, backing thuggish militias and training and arming them," he wrote in The Sunday Times newspaper.

Cameron also appeared to criticize fellow members of the European Union for being slow to act against the Kremlin.

Poor VA

Yeah, they need Congress to give them more money.

"Though the Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center has had three deaths from delayed medical appointments and possibly thousands of patients exposed to improperly sterilized equipment since 2006, at least $25,000 in performance bonuses have been awarded to top executives over that time frame."

I believe the writer meant

I believe the writer meant "monetary penalties". Yes, the money would go back to the federal government. BUT, if a business knows it will lose money from their budget if they condone deceptive practices, that business would certainly make sure those practices were dealt with immediately. Makes sense, Corgi.

They have plenty of money in their budget. Just because these government agencies cry they are broke, doesn't mean they are.

The government hires civil servants who have taken the civil service test and passed with at least a 70% grade. They do not necessarily hire the ones who have the highest grades or have the best qualifications, on top of the difficulty of firing problem employees, this usually means they need a few extra personnel to accomplish the duties of the day. Two or three people end up doing a job that should take only one person - this amounts to wasteful spending.

If you have not had the actual experience of working for civil service and have not seen for yourself how the budgets and handling of them is carried out, perhaps a certain person should refrain from stating opinions as though they are fact.

Corgi, I will give you one "correct". The VA does need a few more facilities, but not until they get the system on track to eliminate waste and perform the duties they swore to do and that is take care of our military personnel.

Some of the smokers I've

Some of the smokers I've talked to seem to feel that if smoke bothers a non-smoker, then the non-smoker should go elsewhere. Their addiction seems to over-ride their consideration.

Not too long ago, there were very few places for a non-smoker to frequent. Thankfully, that's changed.

The Great White Liberal Female Hope

Sen. Elizabeth Warren false claims
Some of you might remember back in 2010 she was caught repeatedly using a false claim that she was part Native American. Some of you might also remember it was widely documented the facts surrounding
Senator Warren's claims of Native American ancestry were outright false.

In fact it is likely an outright ABUSE of the 1970-90's racial quota's used by many companies and colleges to give preferred treatment and opportunities to minorities.

But the lack facts has never stopped a Liberal from doubling down.
(eg Hillary's "We were broke" statement)

For going on 25+ years Senator Warren has used the false Native American ancestry claim for personal & Political gain. Facts show she's made this claim, to three separate employers—the University of Texas Law School, the University of Pennsylvania Law School, and Harvard Law School. None apparently asked her for proof, nor did she offer any.

So where is the LIBERAL OUTRAGE over this ABUSE of American Indian racial preference?

Why are the Liberals so quiet?

Why are the Liberals not screaming and hollering from the roof tops like they did over the Red Skins?

Here is a person that abused the minority preferences & Quota system for Political and Personal gain.

So why are the Liberals, according to many media outlets, looking at her as the Great White Female Liberal Hope over Hillary?

In my opinion, the main problem with getting anything substantial done with the VA is pork spending!! Is EVERY bill that Congress tries to pass, some idiotic representative wants to throw a bill in the middle of it, that has NOTHING to do with the VA!!! It might be $500,000.00 for a library in their home city, named after them; or a raise for congress or senate, 12.5 million for building a research facility, where the company constructing the building, is owned by the congressman's nephew!! This causes many Congressman to refuse to sign a bill and then makes them look as if they're refusing to help fix the VA issue!!

A bill concerning the VA, should be about the VA and ONLY the VA!! How hard is that to understand?? It should be literally CRIMINAL for them to continue putting special projects into the middle of anther bill!! How do we expect this Country to get better, when we have leaders, creating this kind of deception?

Cigarette smoke doesn't

Cigarette smoke doesn't offend or bother me, because I've been around it my entire life. My entire family smokes besides me, so I'm pretty used to the smoke.

But, I've noticed with them and with smoker's in general, they tend to be some of the most irresponsible and uncaring people!! No, not ALL of them, but a LOT of them!! Everywhere you go, you see cigarette butts lying all over the ground!! I was golfing the other day on Bartram Trail and noticed cigarette butts lying in the grass near the green!! I was disgusted that someone would liter such a beautiful place, with their disgusting butts!! This is just one small example, or many that could be brought up!!

If you're going to smoke, put your butts in your pocket people!! And have courtesy for people around you, while you're in public!! Yes, I do believe their addiction, over rules their courtesy for other people!!

If you're going to smoke, get away from people who might not like it. If you're going to smoke, don't throw you butts out the car window, littering eveyone's highways and making this world look bad!! Put the dad gum butt in YOUR CAR!! It's your choice to smoke, so dirty YOUR CAR, not the streets!! I realize you don't want the nasty butts in your car, but it's YOUR BUTT Pal; don't make others have to clean YOUR crap!! I will write someone a ticket in a heartbeat for littering!!
