THE CONSTITUTION GIVES the House control over the federal government’s money. It is time for the House to defund the executive branch.

I WOULD LIKE TO know why all the groceries, gas and everything keep going up but the money doesn’t. By the time I pay my Blue Cross and Medicare, I get $100 a month to live on. Everyone else gets something for free – insurance, medical. Why can one person get something for free and the other person it costs an arm and a leg.

THEY HAD 10,000 people down there at the gay parade, but there were more than that of us sitting at home not wanting anything to do with it.

ANY MENTALLY ILL person should be confined to a facility where they are cared for. They should not be allowed to live on their own.

ISN’T IT SORT OF tawdry for Democrats to purport to help women, but only sexually active women? How about some free Midol for us poor wallflowers and virgins?

RAVE TO THE IRS for losing the e-mails. Since I conduct most of my personal business on my PC, including filing tax returns, when the IRS shows up for an audit I’ll use the same defense, “my computer crashed and I lost everything.”

SPEAK UP AGAINST nuclear waste being dumped on SRS. The graphite fuel was produced in plants operating from 1967-1988. Germany wants to get rid of the waste with a goal of no reactors in the country by 2020.The radioactive waste stored at SRS is over the source of our drinking water.

RANT TO THE PEOPLE saying we should buy guns and prepare for the revolution. Look how well the revolutions have worked out in Syria and Libya.

I GROW WEARY OF hearing how we stole this land from the Native Americans. Germanic tribes “stole” the land we now called England from the native Britons. Normans, “stole” England from the Anglo- Saxons. Their descendants faced the terror of the ocean and “stole” America from the natives. The natives lost, just like the Britons. This time, these “Invaders” created the greatest nation that ever has been in history. Now, it seems, we are being invaded – and are losing.

"I GROW WEARY....

....OF hearing how we stole this land from the Native Americans."

Me too. You keep hearing that because the liberals who are in charge of American public education are the same liberals who are responsible for the rest of the failures in our public schools. They hate America and have destroyed public education by fundamentally changing schools from being education oriented to becoming left-wing agenda oriented. Houses of indoctrination, not education.

Excellent Analysis

Good comment, Harley. We have people in public schools teaching our kids to be ashamed or angry about the history of this continent and this country.

And what college professors (public and private) teach their students is even worse.

Kind of quiet, this time of night . . . .

Just a question. Are there other Knology (aka WOW!) high definition customers who have lost signals on all high definition cable channels? All of mine are gone, though the standard definition channels are there, albeit the volume levels are way low. This has been going on for two days now.

If you only have $100 to live on after paying your Blue Cross and Medicare you have a problem. Go out and work and do not expect a free ride from those who have and still do work hard, My Medicare is $260 a month and my Blue Cross is $400 and I have no problem making ends meet. I draw my Social Security that I paid in for 40 plus years. No I do not like the prices going up but nor do I expect a handout because I was not prepared for life after my working years. If every able bodied person would take jobs they are offered, and work hard to better themselves prices would come down because our government would not have the burden of supporting those who will not support themselves

And the Democrats are raising the price of food.

There are some great R & Rs

There are some great R & Rs today. Seems more people are finally waking up and speaking out about what is happening in our country because of this administration.

Except Ranter #2 isn't quite awake yet. He's asking why everything is going up. There is always a slight raise periodically and weather, at times, which effects the price of our crops and it goes up somewhat.

However, one of the biggest reasons prices have soared are the many regulations placed on our businesses. They must change their practices to comply with the regulations, costing them much more - then passed on to us. And of course, there are the taxes that O says he "hasn't" raised. He touts that he hasn't raised taxes on us - and other than doing away with the tax cuts from the Bush era, he hasn't raised them personally on us. BUT, all the tax increases he has imposed on our corporations/businesses trickles down to us in the form of higher prices for all our needs. Who said Mr. Reagan's trickle down therory didn't work?

Some on here say that nothing has changed w/obummercare

So wrong my friend....everything is changing.

Maybe not in your neck of the woods but here, things are changing. Some doctors will only take select patients now....pay upfront & get their service or you are flat out of luck.

My ppo Dr has to pay weekend help to keep records updated...he is not a happy camper & may retire soon & get out of he hassle..

Many high profile companies will drop retiree care...& please don't come on here & tell me that isn't true..IT IS HAPPENING TO ME!!

I have sat on the fence about complaining about Obama...I felt he received enough crap...but not anymore...he has made decisions that will take us down paths we don't want & may never recover from...even his own party folks are pulling away...

Yesterday I had the pleasure of volunteering at the American Junior Golf Association. Jones Creek hosted 78 awesome golfers between the ages of 14 and 18 who should be an inspiration to all children to become involved in a sport or activity that enables them to become something other than an addict to their phones or TV.

In addition to the focused attitudes, politeness, friendliness to all of us on the sidelines, it appeared that even though they did not know each other before playing, they had developed a relationship with their fellow golfers.

There are lots of sports and other activities available to youngsters, parents need to get them interested and involved.

To digress a moment, not one of these youngsters had an ounce of fat on them. It was obvious that they got plenty of exercise.

You're right! It seems the people who are not affected by this prez's policies are the same ones who voted him in twice. The ones who take all the welfare, food stamps, already receive free medical, Section 8 subsidies, and whatever else is free.

They seem to think since they are still receiving all their freebies that all is right with the rest of us who are paying for it.

seenit, we lost our retiree

seenit, we lost our retiree care a few years ago. Yes, it will happen to you. The retirees of Duke Energy filed a class-action lawsuit and they lost.

It isn't because of Obamacare. It's because the cost of health care has skyrocketed, and because corporations now have to report those liabilities and expenses on their balance sheets.

This started back in the 90's, and yes, you can expect all of the retiree benefits to be lost. And it's all perfectly legal.

Todd Akin is a nightmare that won't go away..

The Republican Party's worst nightmare is coming back to haunt it just as it hopes to win the Senate this fall.

Former Missouri Rep. Todd Akin's memoir is due out this month — and Politico reports that he does not apologize for his comments on "legitimate rape" or how the remarks brought victory to Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill or how they hurt the GOP's effort to retake the upper chamber in 2012.

Urgent: Who Is Your Choice for the GOP's 2016 Nominee?

Akin's book — "Firing Back: Taking on the Party Bosses and Media Elite to Protect Our Faith and Freedom" — was immediately slammed by Republicans. It is to be released on July 15, but Politico obtained a copy in advance.

"Todd Akin is an embarrassment to the Republican Party and the sole reason Claire McCaskill is still part of Harry Reid’s majority," Brian Walsh, communications director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2012 election cycle, told Politico.

Does every Tom Dick & harry write a dang book? We could write a book about this place...probably sell more too.:)

Public schools haven't

Public schools haven't failed. And they aren't the ones that are teaching children to be angry and ashamed.

It's people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, who cry "racism" at every turn. It's the people that got together and decided that the Confederate flag is a symbol of black oppression.

It's the media, who focus on people like Rodney King and OJ Simpson.

It's the rappers, who carry those messages in their "songs" and videos.

As for college history courses, college is for adults, who can better understand the complex issues of history, and are able to understand differing viewpoints. There is a lot of American history that is ugly, but adults have the maturity to understand that and put it in the proper context.

The truth is the truth, and when you don't want to teach the truth, that's censorship.

The wonderful part about America is that we DO teach the truth. We aren't like other countries, who gloss over the bad parts of their country's history, to teach propaganda. We teach all of it, the good and the bad, so that we can learn from our mistakes, understand each other better, and not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Learning the truth also helps dispel myths, like the Civil War was fought over slavery. It was far more complex than that, and was really about states' rights and the Constitutional right to secede, and the Federal government imposing high tariffs.

corgi--I understand that I'm not the lone ranger

I get the fact that many are losing...what they were PROMISED ..

Do you ever think that MILLIONS sucking on the freebies just might be a lil problem....everyone wants to get paid for services----doctors want that too.

Now, here we are taking in MILLIONS of illegals--kids & adults & we will pay for their health --housing--food--upkeep & etc....BUT will lose our own health benefits...

YEA BABY --GIVE ME SOME MORE OF THAT CRAP...

Too many know how to play the system now...we will all go under if we don't change this.....we will have to cut bennies til some squeal like piglets...& I hope that happens SOON.

Schools Failed?

Corgi, I agree with you up to a point. The Schools have not failed, but the blame only goes to one place, The Parents!! They are the ones who have failed. The kids with involved parents excel, the kids with deadbeat parents do not and usually get an attendance certificate rather than a diploma!! Very few children born to generational "Welfare" mama's do well because the know they can follow what their parents have done and be supported for the rest of their lives. Once in a while someone breaks the mold and supports their child and pushes that child and that child comes out and goes on to make something of themselves. That is not common and as long as these people can sit on their big ole butts and have you me and everyone else who works pay for them that's exactly what they will do. Obamacare has cost this country more jobs, more healthcare and benefits for workers than any program in history. Census figures say you can multiply the number of homes by 2.3 and come up with a rough census for an area. In the projects or government housing you have to use 4.5 for an accurate picture. What does it say to you when you hear a welfare mother bragging on her son, a known drug dealer, having 8 children by different mothers? I know what it says to me, that I'm supporting those children, he's not and each of those children has 3 or 4 half siblings. In my opinion a Democrat is worse than a rattlesnake, at least the rattlesnake will warn you before it bites!!

US Attonerty General Eric Holder Playing the Race card again

Saturday in a speech he AGAIN labeled America "A Nation of Cowards" in regards to Race relations and has much more to accomplish.

So said the Black Man holding the Highest Law Enforcement Position in the United States of America working for President Obama. Who is in charge of the Dept of Justice and the FBI and etc...

So AG Holder has again played the Race Card leading up to another election, just like he did in 2009, just before the 2010 elections.

Yes, Black America has come a long ways and we still has a ways to go. But blaming the White folks is no longer the main reason. There is a certain part of Black America wants to be separate, to have its own versions of everything, wants to blame others for their problems.

Before true progress can be made the Democrats & Liberals need to quit playing the Race Card for Power over of the Black-American Community.

It seems some of our highest office holders in the USA aren't happy despite repeated progress over the last 50 years.

Maybe its because Obama was not raise Black-American but in White America and other countries, that he does not see the progress since 1964.

But what has the DNC and and this Administration done for Black America since taking office and power in 2008?

Even the Coalition of African American Pastors aren't happy with what the Obama / Holder team have done.

We’re on a downward road,” Owens, who is founder and president of the Coalition of African American Pastors (CAAP), said at the event at the National Press Club. “And this president has done more to hurt the American people than any president, as I see it, in my lifetime and in history.”

President Obama & AG Holder both need to remember he is the President of all the people of the United States. Not just one group of Americans.

General Medical & Retiree Healthcare

My Wife and I have AETNA-Retiree policies via my former employer.

Because I was upper management my benefits contract requires them to provide my with Health Insurance until we both die. However there is no CAP and we have watched our costs increase every year since 2002. Going from $468 a month for a family of 4, to now $1753 a month for 2. BTW: we are on a fixed income.

According to our checkbook, our biggest medical insurance increases were between 2009 and 2012. Plus now under OBAMACARE we will have to pay an additional TAX for have a Cadillac Policy, we are told starting in 2015. OBAMACARE has not helped and has in facts hurt many times the numbers that it has helped.

Yes,
something needs to be done about medical healthcare costs in the USA.

But putting the Federal Government in charge, that has yet to get even 1 "I have the Government and here to help" right in 240 years is not the answer as we have seen with OBAMACARE's Socialist solution.

Drop our policy on health care--all of it---walk into the Dc office & say "Here we are, just like illegals coming in, now cover us fully."

We want healthcare--food-housing & all gov bennies that are given to others...NO IFS/BUTS/ANDS....we will have to do something outrageous to shake up this STUPID GOVERNMENT.

Schools

History books have been changed to slant toward socialism, starting around the early 60's. If that's not obvious, ask the college students any question about the constitution, the Federalist Papers, how many Supreme Court Justices there are and who they are. These things are not being taught while ideas are being put in their heads that no one should compete for an award, no one should have his/her feelings hurt, everyone should share their possessions, mom and dad need government to tell them what to feed their children, on and on. And that's not indoctrination?

Our children are brought up to believe that the money they earn isn't really theirs - it is the government's to take and the government's perogative to tell you how to spend the pittance they leave you. That's not indoctrination to socialism?

Children now go to school with their school supplies that mom and dad paid for but must give them all to the teacher to be redistributed to those children whose parents did not purchase the needed school supplies. Indigent parents are given a certain amount of money to help cover the cost of raising their children. Yet, so many of these children do not have enough to eat, decent clothes, proper medical/dental care or school supplies.

In spite of the billions of dollars given to these parents, we still have to "share" what little we have left, but some say our children are not being indoctrinated to accept socialism?

Raise your hand if you think

Raise your hand if you think Jim Crowe and the KKK were founded by the Republicans.

Many people do think that. The truth is both were formed by southern democrats.

Raise your hand if you think Mr. Lyndon Johnson was the author and advocate for the Civil Rights Act. The Republicans in congress pressured him to accept it. Even Al Gore's father, a democrat in the Senate back then, voted against it. I recently saw an article about the author of Mr. Johnson's legacy where she proclaimed he was totally responsible for the passing of this act and that the Republicans were actually hesitant to pass the CRA.

But schools are teaching the truth?

hoptoad, no, colleges don't

hoptoad, no, colleges don't teach how many Supreme Court justices there are, or about the Constitution, or about the Federalist Papers.

That's what is taught in public school, why would it need to be taught again in college? If you have a high school diploma, and did your work like you were supposed to, a college student already knows that.

College is not supposed to be a repeat of public school.

College is for adults, and if somebody becomes a socialist in college, they have that right as adults to do so.

I took history courses in college. In college, they teach subjects in depth, and I learned more about American history in college than I ever did in public school.

The idea that college students are taught to be socialists by "liberal professors" is one of those urban myths that just will not die, and the people that perpetuate that are the ones who didn't go to college and have no idea what was actually taught.

The idea that professors at ASU are socialists, and teach socialism, is absurd.
