Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

FROM DAY 1 OF Obama’s presidency, Eric Cantor has used every dirty trick to block the Democratic agenda. There are so many big issues we could make progress on without Republicans like Eric Cantor in our way: raising the minimum wage, passing student loan reform. I’m so glad that Cantor’s been shown the door.

RANT FOR PATHETIC government. The MS 13 gangs are now in 1,200 American cities dealing drugs to our kids and creating incredible violence and murders. Thousands of illegals dumped into our country. This makes it totally necessary to carry weapons and at the same time the government is trying to take away our guns. When they get all these criminals out of our country I will give up my weapons. Government is pathetic.

AFTER LISTENING TO the news the past few days, there has been talk about the special purpose local option sales tax failing to pass, indicating lack of funding to raze abandoned houses. There is talk on the radio about not being able to bring big entertainment acts to Augusta. Well, if the convention center had not been built (a waste of money), maybe money could of been allotted for more useful purposes. The Augusta Commission needs to be changed or dismantled. I am so glad I crossed the river.

HOUSE LEADER ERIC Cantor’s defeat absolutely “shocking.” It’s a punch in the gut to Republican leadership. The architect of their radical agenda and shutdown is packing to leave now, and the rest are in danger.

LAST I KNEW I WAS living in America, where I could quit a job if I wanted to. Shows how bad a company is to go after your friends left behind in the workplace for your decision.

I TEND TO LEARN better if someone wants to send me on an all-expenses paid trip across country to a Disney World Resort and still get my paycheck. I just learn better than sitting at my desk trying to learn and at the same time doing my regular job and going to the circus at the Marble Palace. Wait for me, Donald Duck, and where is Goofy?

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, the time is now for Obama to step aside and let the adults bail us out of the mess he has made with America and the world.

NOW CAN WE BUILD the Keystone pipeline? With Iraq oil in peril, we have no choice but to put our soldiers in harm’s way to ensure the U.S. and our allies have oil. If we had the pipeline, we and Saudi Arabia could cover the loss.

Cantor's District

If anyone thinks a Democrat is going to win in that heavily Republican district he is obviously a low information voter.

When CANTOR's went RINO

it was time for him him to go.

His replacement as Speaker has a history fighting Obama's Socialist agenda also. So don't expect much change until after Jan 2015 when the LANDSLIDE of NEW Republicans take office and repeal much of the SOCIALIST DEMOCRAT AGENDA.

BTW: if they start acting RINO they'll be gone the next election also.

BTW: you may have crossed the river

Many have stayed Georgian just moved to Jefferson or McDuffie Counties.

Because Burke and Columbia counties are now showing signs of being infected with Augusta's problems.

We thought even those were to close and we move 5 counties away

Why are the liberals acting
Unpublished

Why are the liberals acting so happy that Cantor is gone. He was beginning to do anything he could to help Obama get amnesty for illegals. THAT is why he got beaten. As for the rant......If I can't even get my order right, at a fast food place, there is no way they deserve $15 an hour. You obviously have no idea what raising the minimum wage does to the economy. If you believe it helps the economy, then why not raise it to $100 an hour....or more?

The guy who defeated Cantor is an economist who actually read his textbooks, and he knows that raising the minimum wage is disastrous to the lower end of the economic spectrum. It is also harmful to the middle and upper ends of the spectrum.

What happened in Virginia is a good thing for the future.

Programs in America

The Cantor flop was just the tip of the iceberg...can you say Titanic.

People are so disgusted with the REGIME in power that they know the iceberg is coming..so brace yourself for the impact!

Last night I saw Gov Perry of Texas say he will put millions in his budget to protect his border with National Guards if necessary...this is a tsumani blast of BAD decisions by this know nothing gov..in DC.

He said this is hurricane season & he has no way to protect or house MILLIONS of refugees in his state...our so called gov has been more worried about illegals than the TAXPAYERS in this country...they are proving that with each passing day..

How right you are nocnoc

"Because Burke and Columbia counties are now showing signs of being infected with Augusta's problems."

You can't avoid it either....so you move to another county just hoping you can skip the crime & bad decisions...nahh...there is an infection going on & it is spreading through the populace...the Atlanta area has it too..we have to get rid of pc decisions & pc way of life....they will have to get some backbone & guts & toss out the feel good voting patterns that have slammed our way of life o smitterreens..

Tell your Senator--Reps that they will have to work for the taxpayer or GET OUT! THAT, is what happened to Cantor. imho

We have MS-13 in Charlotte. A friend of mine was on the jury trial that convicted one of them and he was given the death penalty. My friend was on a sequestered jury and they had extremely heavy security because Feds were afraid the jurors would be killed.

Somebody with a gun is no match for them. They are guerilla-trained soldiers from the jungles of Central America.

The best thing to do is to find out where they are at and then stay far, far away from them. They are vicious killers, they are not the typical home-grown gangbangers.

Is it worth responding to these people? They obviously have little or no education and don't know enough to research the bull-oney they hear from the mainstream media and this administration's own lips. The Republicans are blocking this adminstration!!!?? To quote Corgimom -boy, do they need a "civics lesson". It's about time Republicans started ousting some of the rino's in our party.

Top of the morning to all, just had a K-cup of Community Club coffee to jump start my day....
Still fairly peaceful here(Peachtree City). I moved here in 2000. Three murders to date, two domestic related. A few armed robberies all solved very quickly. We have some drugs, mainly pot, underage drinking, but the most part we are a sleepy peaceful city. Law enforcement is very good and a firearm has not been used by a LEO that I know of in forever. Do something wrong and you will be surrounded by police in seconds. Hope it stays this way. The county has some crime especially near the border of Clayton county but it is handled expediantly.

Airman, what you describe sounds a lot like Columbia County. But the low lifes and criminal element are a lot like roaches; once they get a toehold, they are hard to get rid of. I hope the county leadership does what is needed to keep them out.

A different way of Justice for the IRS related Issues

Lost Email, "sudden" crashed Hard Drives only for certain people.
Not one IRS Manager or staff member arrested for violating the civil rights of 1,000,000's of voters, NOT one arrest for violating the US Constitution 1st amendment regarding Freedom of Speech. An now we learn that the IRS was discussing plans to arrest political opponents of the White House Administration during the election to ensure re-election.

NOT 1 ARREST, NOT 1 termination, NOT 1 IRS staff member or Director has had their pay cut or been fined. The IRS Director and her Asst. Directors were allowed to RETIRE with FULL Benefits and as applicable with retirement income.

That is how unanswerable the IRS is to the Citizens or Voters.

BUT this rant would not be complete with an example of what happens when people take on the IRS and conduct illegal activities. How they go to trial and are convicted all in less time than the IRS takes to lie about Emails and crashed hard drives.

From Todays Headlines
Last members of million-dollar tax fraud conspiracy sentenced to Prison.

The article tells us the wheels of Justice still turn quickly for the Citizen street level criminal with sentences of 11years 10 moths and another received 5 years in prison. All in LESS time than the IRS scandal has taken to reach latest Email excuse "The Dog ate them."

If ever there was a reason for the USA to move to a consumption tax instead of Income Tax we are seeing one here. and there are so many others.

We Now know the IRS has become a Political Tool and that beyond a shadow of a doubt, was used WILLING against Americans for political purposes. This time it was the Freedom Lovers and Patriots, but the same thing could happen to the Left and Liberals.

So for benefit of both sides the IRS needs to be reduce to a business audit agency and we need to move to a simple consumption tax.

After all if the American People are going to be held to ridge laws and standards, should we expect any less of our Government elected official and employed or appointed that weld the power to take someones freedom away?

I hope Gov Perry does put the Guard on the border---he will probably get a lot of help.

The program in a nutshell.

Prosperous Suburbs are now ‘racist’ and in the name of Diversity – Obama plans on identifying every neighborhood in America by race-population and ‘rectifying’ “geospatial discrimination’.

Think you own your property and have private rights? Think again.

If you live in a predominantly White and /or prosperous suburb – the Obama regime says you are racist and discriminating against inner city blacks. Obama plans on addressing “geospatial discrimination’ of minorities by ‘mapping’ every neighborhood in America in regards to it’s racial make-up and financial strength. Then, HUD will impose new rules that will go out to suburbs that are not racially diverse and demand “affirmatively further fair housing” in the suburbs for minorities. Grantees who fail to comply will be denied federal funding.

The Kelo decision on Eminent Domain gives the government the precedent to seize your house and property as they see fit for such social experimentation if taxation can be shown to be an economic benefit. The notorious 2005 ruling in Kelo v. City of New London, upheld the use of eminent domain to transfer property from one private owner to another for the sake of economic development. What that means, is that using the precedent set by SCOTUS, Obama can use Eminent Domain to transfer your property to his inner city constituents for the sake of ‘economic development’.

Then there is the massive amount of foreclosed properties that the Federal Government has jurisdiction over with Freddie Mac & Fannie Mae. Some astute folks in Real Estate have warned us of this portent. The foreclosure market of those properties off the books or ones that are not being foreclosed, belong to the Feds. It will take nothing but an order from Obama to have his welfare cretins move into the foreclosed home next to yours. Even in rural areas. Imagine thousands of inner city ghetto scum of a bankrupt area moving on in next door to you. A bigger redistribution than Section 8 ever hoped to be.

Kelo

I think the Kelo decision gave the state of Connecticut the right to transfer private property through eminent domain from one individual to another individual (i.e. development company). I don't think it applies to the federal government. Is Dixieman around to verify?

Sorry for the gloom & doom

But just lately we have been hit with MORE idiots wanting money from our (no raise retirement) & soc sec funds...more Dr bills & next year we will see even MORE expense in THAT!
We are paying dearly for the mistakes in congress & DC....we can't take every blessed child & poor family to raise.

Just in the last days I have had to prove to insurance company that we are PAYING for house alarm & have additional insurance for backup on houses....we have so much crime in todays world that the INNOCENTS are hit with a whammy in any way they turn...just like the gun deal....if you are HONEST & only want it for protection..PROVE IT THEY SAY....yall can't be ok with this nonsense.

I will NOT send another Rep a single dollar til they get a dang BACKBONE...& that is what I'm telling them.

I would play a song here but the one I want would get kicked to the curb...soo no song.

"Because Burke and Columbia counties....

....are now showing signs of being infected with Augusta's problems."

One of these days, I'm pretty sure you'll recognize these aren't "Augusta's problems" at all, but rather societal problems/changes that have occurred all around the nation (and abroad too) as time marches on.

I grew up in the 50s in a small town in Illinois just across from St. Louis. Population was about 9,000. The town had good neighborhoods and poor neighborhoods. Near zero crime. Now, 50 years later, crime is abundant, bad neighborhoods are largely rebuilt and now affluent, the formerly "good" neighborhoods are mostly dismal looking places where crime is fairly rampant. The city government is viewed as being corrupt and stupid.

I wish you good health and happiness in your new home away from all the troubles "Augusta" has caused you. I suspect, however, that you'll find all these problems you view as "Augusta's problems" will eventually show up wherever you choose to locate.

They really aren't "Augusta's problems," they are societal problems and they are pretty much inescapable. Worse, unless we make some major changes to society, there will soon be no place to hide.....not even the fair, beautiful, lovely, and wealthy Columbia County.

Another example of why some locations keep better security

RECENT
Security footage taken at a Florida Boost Mobile store shows a robber violently punch a pregnant clerk tp the floor before making off with the cash.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=EovKdpCF-JQ

This is why no company should operate a store with 1 employee.... and sorry if I upset a few NOW types, especially a pregnant woman by herself.

He could have stomped her head in and nobody would have known.

Now that it is all over the Internet....
Just like the Polar Bear clubs, want to bet we'll start seeing similar types of 1 employee store robberies?

cogimom and SeenitB4, You are both spot on with your comments..

cogimom and SeenitB4, You are both spot on with your comments.

cogimom, The vast majority of people don't know how deadly MS-13 is. It makes the Crips and Bloods seem like choir boys. The sad thing is there are some "children" under 16 coming across the southern border in this invasion with MS-13 tattoos and they have to be let in because of their age. We are tying the knot on our own hanging noose.

SeenitB4, What you are hitting on is so under the radar. Obama and Holder believe in putting people of all income levels and culture into high end neighborhoods.

I'm not sure exactly what the motivation is. It could be one of two reasons. The first being to punish the achievers by putting the unproductive in with them. The other is the irrational thought that by putting under achievers in with the successful, the habits of the successful will serve as an example and the under achievers will miraculously start to better themselves.

What they don't understand it's not the environment so much as it is a clash of cultures. Under achievers have a different concept of life styles and it won't change by having them live in Jones Creek rather than Cherry Crossing.

I wish there more publicity was given to this action. I think the federal home mortgage agencies are involved in it in some way of loan approval or something. Whatever it is, it's bad if it goes into effect.
