Manhole cover causes detour on Greene Street

  • Follow Crime & courts

Greene Street traffic was detoured Monday evening after an incident involving a manhole cover.

At about 8 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies redirected traffic on the south side of the east-bound lanes of Greene and 10th streets because a manhole cover blew off, according to a news release from Sgt. Michael McDaniel.

Richmond County Fire Department was on scene and investigating. Deputies were directing traffic on the 900 and 1000 blocks of Greene Street.

I'm deeply offended by the term "man hole cover".
