Comments from readers:

MOST OF THE PROBLEMS people have today are self-motivated. People can’t stand themselves and that’s why they take out their frustrations on other people. Whether it be drugs or alcohol … it makes no difference. If you have a problem, you need to deal with it. And the quicker you deal with it, the better off the world will be.

THANK YOU TO THE person who turned in my debit card at McDonald’s on Mike Padgett Highway last Monday afternoon.

MORE THAN 90 PERCENT of incarcerated individuals self-identify as a Democrat. We could probably eliminate crime if the Democratic Party was dissolved.

UNCLE JOE, THE Ukrainians don’t want us to “walk down the road with them.” They want us to stand up to Russia and block the road. Sadly, we do not have any courageous leadership in the White House.

MAYORAL CANDIDATE Lori Myles says she wants a more “transparent” government. That’s what Obama said, too.

TO DRIVERS WHO STAY in the passing lane on Riverwatch I-20: Have they forgotten what they learned in drivers’ ed?
Left lane is only for passing; when you pass someone, you get back in the right lane. It’s that simple! Why can’t you remember that? I can’t wait ’til this law goes in effect.

OK, LET’S SET THE record straight – first, the Georgia Department of Corrections does not have “guards,” but rather corrections officers. Second, the female gang member on the front page of today’s paper was not an officer, but rather a cadet. That means she was in training to become an officer.

THIS IS A RANT TO Mr. Mills’ featured letter. I am sure this liberal would have been a British Loyalist in the early days of our nation. He would be writing opinion letters defending the Stamp Act and Townshend Acts as legitimate “amounts owed” to the government. The foundation of his argument is flawed because he assumes the fees were proper.

RANT TO CREDIT CARD owners who dispute a charge without first contacting the retailer. Win or lose, the retailer has to pay a $15-$25 fee. Do banks ask if you’ve contacted the company? No – they’d lose the fees! Bank executives make hundreds of millions a year, because you won’t call the company’s phone number (on every statement) to ask what you bought! Heedless customers: quit sending my profits to greedy banks!

Hmmmm. That is interesting. The shop owner appears to have a point. Now that people charge very small items on their credit cards (such as a hamburger and coke), they may be able to get free food if they dispute the charge with the credit card company. The hamburger stand owner will probably say the charge was wrong just to avoid the $15 fee.

I usually don't take partisan sources at face value, but I didn't vet this one. However, it would not surprise me one iota if it is true.

More Than 90 Percent of the

More Than 90 Percent of the time congressional Republicans voted "NO" when it come to helping the seniors, the poor and working class people. We could probably eliminate stone- walling in Congress if the House was control by Democrats.

My Point of View

What do corrections officers do? They guard prisoners. Let's not get too carried away with the semantics. There's nothing derogatory about calling someone a guard.

About the charges on credit cards, often times people are enrolled into programs that charge monthly fees without realizing it. That's a scam of sorts. It's often extremely difficult to get out of the monthly charges. I can see people asking their bank to stop payments in those circumstances.

With all the talk and emotions about the new law moving slow drivers to the right lane, I have to wonder if the drivers, for and against, who get so excited about the issue wouldn't be better off driving bumper cars around crashing into each other until the snot ran out their noses.

Democrat Prisoners and Republicans Not "Helping"

Those in prison are Democrats while those voting no to "helping" others are Republicans. I can totally agree with those assertions. But keep in mind, "helping" means being taxed for more of the money you work for to give to others while being in prison simply means you are a criminal.

For Now

"They are convicted felons, they can't vote anyway."

For now. From the NY Times 11 Feb 2014. "WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. called Tuesday for the repeal of laws that prohibit millions of felons from voting, underscoring the Obama administration’s determination to elevate issues of criminal justice and race in the president’s second term and create a lasting civil rights legacy.

The incarcerated self-identify as a Democrats

While I doubt the 90% numbers to be honest.

I can just see a new fringe Special Interest Group for the Democrat Party to adopt.

Criminal & Reprobate American Party (☺☺☺☺)
After all The Democrat Party does seem to be filled with
a lot of non-mainstream ☺☺☺☺ already.

BTW: depending of the survey and how and where it was taken, the percentage varies between 75% and up to 90% ... Still high

Voting rights for Felons

Years ago felons could not vote anywhere.
But that has changes in recent times.

http://felonvoting.procon.org/view.resource.php?resourceID=000286

I guess pretty soon we'll hear of a Candidate stumping in Prisons for the Chain gang Votes.

An YES it was US Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor (OBAMA APPOINTEE) said that felon disenfranchisement is a violation of the Voting Rights Act in her May 4, 2006 dissenting opinion in Hayden v. Pataki.

If the RINOS don't get their act together an start listening and ACTING of what their VOTING Supporters want.

Maybe it is time to go Uber-Right?
Because the LEFT, Liberal and Socialists always seems to always want more, and the RINO's lately, seem to give it up after a lot of lip service.

LEFT LANE DRIVERS

A lot of people move over to the left lane when approaching or moving through areas such as cities or interchanges to avoid or slow the incoming traffic. As to the ranters opinion...I bet this is one of those who stays in the left lane speeding all the way! Find something more important to complain about!

I identifie with this quote exactly up untill the point of dealing with your problems. What if the problem is life itself! Many, many veterans are finding those damned wars and what they have seen and done to be too, too much to deal with. And a military mind-set that these veterans "should just man-up!!"

Those dopes in prison

Those dopes in prison wouldn't know a Republican or Democrat if it ran over them in the road.

They are too busy committing crimes to worry about voting, ever.

I agree with this 100%! But what about the troops and an American population who are war wierry as it is??!! I am sorry to say that Ukraine is not as much of an ally to put the troops in harm's way yet again!!!! It must BE NOW that the troops stay home where they belong and get the much needed midical help that they DESERVE!!

t3bled, it's more than just

t3bled, it's more than just military vets.

Many people suffer terrible traumas in life. Many people suffer illnesses that they didn't ask for, and that can't be cured.

I agree with you, the idea that "just man up and deal with it" is short-sighted, and just plain ignorant. There is still a stigma towards people that have mental illness, that they are "weak" and if they just faced their problems, then everything would be just fine and dandy.

And people will think that way, until their life comes apart- and that's when they will learn the reality.

Sad, isn't it?

The commentor said:

Base on their well documented dismal rate of Correction.
Maybe we need to fire the Corrections Officers and rehired the Guards. Then make it a Prison again, instead of a NON-working Correctional facility?

"What parent lets their daughter wear Playboy Bunny Ears...."

There is a possibility her parents didn't know about the ears. In fact, it's much more likely either a probability, or a certainty. But, I agree with JTF....her boyfriend appreciated it.

If all drivers are suppose to

If all drivers are suppose to drive in the right lane, then why are there many roads with more than 2 lanes on each side of the road? Those lanes were built to fight traffic congestion.

Thank-you for understanding mental health issues. I have been diagnosed with three different disorders which may or may not be because of the way I was raised. It is truly a bad situation when one becomes mentally disordered because of what one sees and / or is expected to do even if it goes toward doing things that go very much against our prencipols.
