Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

HAS THERE EVER been a radio station with announcers with a more limited vocabulary than WGAC? Austin Rhodes, Harley Drew and Ashley Brown are unbelievable. On March 6, Austin used the words “incredible” and “incredibly” 52 times.

IF 86 PERCENT OF people signing up for Obamacare get government assistance to pay the premiums, it appears to be just another way the federal government is making the people dependent, added to food stamps and child care programs. Another vote-getting program for the Democrats.

RAVES FOR THE people who stopped on Washington Road in front of Martinez Animal Hospital to help me look for my husky that had just slipped out of her collar. I caught her a half-mile away and she is safe.

THE NEW STATE LAW requiring slow drivers to move out of the left lane or be ticketed is a great idea. However, I would suspect the majority of those ignorant people who do this won’t even be aware it will be a law, so I don’t see it doing any good, so it won’t be enforced. Just like the law that says you must turn your headlights on when it’s raining. You see 20-25 percent driving without headlights, and they are never ticketed.

AS A REALTOR, shouldn’t she occasionally check on her properties besides just cashing the check?

DOES PRESIDENT OBAMA think people are going to give up their cellphones to buy health insurance? I don’t think so. Healthy people want (need) a cellphone worse than health insurance.

RAVE FOR THE wonderful teachers at Hammond Hill Elementary in North Augusta. Thank you all for a job well done. This is where credit is due.

THE HARRISBURG Association meetings are every second Thursday of the month. Harrisburg could at least let the church members know on the Sunday before the meeting or post it outside on the church board. The more neighborhood members we have, we can work together and make great things happen in the Harrisburg community.

RAVE FOR A VERY pleasant employee at Atlanta Bread, Tiffany. She is a very sharp lady. Our company orders a lot of lunches from them, and she takes very good care of us and knows her stuff. The sweet girl who delivers is also wonderful.

As incredible as it seems, I doubt that person actually counted how many times those words were spoken. If so, the ranter has bigger problems than vocabulary.

give up their cellphones to buy health insurance?

A failed system that costs billions.....why not just shoot ourselves in the foot everyday.

Strange isn't it.!!

"In the lead-up to Friday's meeting, Zuckerberg took to his own Facebook page to strongly condemn Obama's administration for its secret spying tactics, following reports that the NSA had once used spoofs of the social network to infect computers with malware."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
We have to worry about our own country infecting us with malware...dang.

A Bet For Local radio hosts

Wonder if any of them would be willing to take a bet for T-Bonz dinner?

The Bet

They can't mention any family members or related family events or experiences, any personal friends or related events or experiences, can't mention salary compared to others, or brag about family, friends or personal inside knowledge for 1 week.

A RAVE for study for uncovering a cause.

It finds
In the past 2 decades, correlational and experimental studies have found a positive association between violent video game play and aggression.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22040315

BUT, now what will the politicians do, or can do to fix it?

Given the Entertainment industry has become a political Special Interest Group, donating $millions$ in cash and doing free PSA's promoting candidates they like.

Sure there is a connection with videos

Also with sex simulation music videos too....kids see & kids do.

This is so different from our Tom & jerry cartoons....when I look back, I think we came up in the innocent tv age....GWTW

Uncle Joe

Says his friend Obama deserves sainthood for his patience during the ACA rollout. Wonder how Uncle Joe feels about the millions of people sitting behind their computers for hours trying to enroll?

Millions of kids play video

Millions of kids play video games, and they aren't aggressive.

We heard the same stuff about rock music and cartoons.

Personally, I think video games are the worst things that ever happened to kids, they don't do anything positive for anybody, and instead of playing with other kids, they are glued to a tv set or computer.

RANT - Where has our right to privacy gone?

As a few of y'all know my background (ret) was IT Security 20+ years of it. Some of it the Guy on the other side of the screen looking in.

As many of you know M$ is finally dropping support for XT and forcing us into pre-hacked and already back-doored Win7 and Win 8 os's.

Over the last 16 months, I and others in the IT Security field have noted a growing number of privacy and Malware/Privacy applications no longer work, due the frequently evolving M$ changes in Win7 & Win8.

eg. http://www.technobuffalo.com/2013/08/22/nsa-windows-8-exploit/

So, when that Win 8 backdoor was found, and major customers refused to update to a OS with documented security risk. The Simple Solution as many claim was M$ just used an update and installed the same backdoor in the Win7.

Those of us that run common privacy programs like: IndexdatSuite, Malwarebytes, CClean and etc.. have found in the last few months they longer entirely erase privacy issues read by 3rd parties as we surf the net.

1 example of privacy issues:
This program allows you to see a list of every web site a computer user has surf. http://support.it-mate.co.uk/?mode=Products&p=index.datqv

To Emphasize a point
The once looked on Paranoid basket case claiming the government is spying on them, is proven right. The Character Witness is none other than the US Government, who is bold enough to admit it IS doing it.

NEW TRAP DOORS?
A new suspected route of back-dooring systems is Software Driver Apps. It seems a few vendors have started the practice of creating USER Accounts on YOUR system during updates. Password locked User account on YOUR system, which you do not have access to, or the password. eg. click on "Command Prompt" and type in "cd\users" ... do you have an directory or User account called " UpdatusUser"? If you do, it was created by a graphics card vendor (Nvidia) for driver updates they claim.

Try to access it and see the contents. Then wonder why a vendor all of a sudden needs a Private-unaccessible account on YOUR Computer?

I'll leave everyone with these parting words.
Bill of Rights 3rd Amendment, 4th Amendment, and the 5th Amendment's ---- Read them

Good Morning America.

Gee Whiz, Poor Corgimom on the burner already this am.

nonoc, darn good computer information. Thanks.

B4, you need to move back to Appling. I think you are getting slightly unstable.

Lilly, you always have everything under control.

Have you all noticed that all our corruption going on in America has been ignored since the disappearance of the Malaysian aircraft. Makes me want to start another Conspiracy Theory.

Will be back to monitor, have more equip to repair and get ready for the grass problem.

"The Bet"

"They can't mention any family members or related family events or experiences, any personal friends or related events or experiences, can't mention salary compared to others, or brag about family, friends or personal inside knowledge for 1 week."
That would eliminate a couple of posters from this site.

Rant 1....IF you can even name five (5) local
Unpublished

TV personalities that are ARTICULATE, I will be pleasantly surprised! Too, I must wonder why nearly ALL the TV Weather Forecasters dress like Morticians? Finally, I wonder if anyone know the difference between a "Comedian," and a Commedienne?"

Sorry; but are you just now catching onto that fact? That is EXACTLY what Obamacare is about!! There is NO CHANCE of the ACA being successful the way it is right now!! They NEED millions millions more young, healthy adults to sign up; in order to pay for it!! It's NOT going to happen!! This WILL FAIL, then democrats will get what they really wanted, which is single payer; which equals government dependency!!

When they were debating this; Obama, Reid and Pelosi claimed there are 45-50 million people in the United States that are uninsured. If this is accurate, WHERE ARE THEY?? You would think they would be JUMPING THROUGH HOOPS to get covered!! They should be willing to walk across hot coals to get covered!! Yet, all they have to do is SIGN UP!!!

WHERE ARE THESE PEOPLE??? It's been 6 months, and if you believe the government, 5 million have signed up, with over half being for medicare!! 5 million in 6 months, with 45 million still uninsured!! It just doesn't make sense!! Why don't we have 15-20 million uninsured people signed up already??? They don't want bascially FREE health insurance?

It's not like they haven't promoted this!! Obama has basically reduced the Presidency to an infomercial salesman status!! His desperate attempts to sell this crap, is shameful!! You're the President, act like it!! Leave the commercials to the left wing actors!!

No he doesn't believe that!! He just wants them to give up their cellphones, get insurance coverage; then they can apply for a free Obamaphone after getting covered!! He is trying to give them the best of both worlds!! Along with extreme government dependency!!!
