The trailer outside Turner Transportation Specialists at 1494 Wrightsboro Road was destroyed by the blaze, according to Richmond County Battalion Chief Frank Lanier.

No one was injured, but it was a “big fire and lots of smoke,” Lanier said.

The fire took almost a half-hour to contain.

The trailer was used to store packing materials and propane tanks for forklifts, Turner Transportation manager Steve Huffman confirmed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, Lanier said.

“I don’t know for sure but it wouldn’t surprise me if this was done on purpose,” Huffman said. “We’ve gotten vandalism here before.”
