Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

IN THE WAKE OF the ice storm, we were excited to see the city sending a crew to pick up the debris from the yards in the National Hills area. However, after an entire day with our street being blocked, very little work seemed to have been accomplished. Doing things partially and poorly seems par for the course for our local government.

I’M AN ACTIVE duty, previously deployed vet. Your article on the vets sleeping under bridges after being in and out of rehab really irked me. Many were just in the service without seeing or doing anything “traumatic.” How about they show some personal responsibility and motivation and stop asking the government to take care of them?

JUST CAME FROM the Italian eatery on Washington Road. The table crowd next to me was rude, crude with bad English. Advised the server she was slow and they were in a hurry. But you guessed it! After asking for the freebie extras for their carry-out they said they could wait for that.

HARDY POINT HOA hired a local law firm to manage the association, but what they forgot to tell the law firm is that Hardy Point 111, phase 2 is not a part of the HOA. How can attorneys send letter threatening homeowners when they are not included in the HOA? How is this legal?

THIS IS A HUGE RAVE to citizen activist Daniel Martin, Chief Jesse Hornsby, and Mayor Brent Weir. When the ice storm hit our little town of Blythe, I saw these guys out there in freezing temperatures cleaning and cutting debris out of the road.

I GUESS WITH the military draw-down, the Obama administration is doing to America what it did to the embassy in Libya: Reducing the defenses, ignoring the dangers and fixing America so there can’t be a respond to a crisis!

WHY DO THE administrators at Glenn Hills High School make announcements almost every period reminding teachers to mark tardy students tardy? Anyone with one day’s experience in a school knows tardy students are tardy. Let your teachers teach. Let your students learn.

I SAW A WOMAN at the mall today that was so fat she could not sit down in a chair. That gave me an idea. They should make all chairs smaller so as to MAKE people lose weight if they want to sit.

Red carpet is soaked

Don't yall just hate that...hah

Now we need to get these bucks for popping up on here..:)

Kim Kardashian reportedly made $500,000 for club appearances during her birthday week, and she usually charges $50,000 on a regular day. Lindsay Lohan was reportedly paid $350,000 to show up at Pure Nightclub in Vegas on her 21st birthday, but she checked into rehab just before the party and had to give it all back.

"Jersey Shore" star The Situation supposedly makes $50,000 to fist pump and flash his abs at pool parties in LA!

Then there are the true A-listers.

Elton John reportedly charges a minimum fee of $1.52 million to show up in his cool shades, and even Cher is willing to pop in on a party for $1.5 million.

Yikes--Supreme Court has been violated

WASHINGTON, D.C. —

Yikes! Someone sneaked a camera into the Supreme Court. And in case you're wondering, no, that's not allowed.

"For probably the first time ever, we're seeing video from inside a Supreme Court hearing. ... It shows a protester briefly interrupting oral arguments," HLN reported.

The Wall Street Journal even went as far as to call it "an unprecedented security breach."

"What's remarkable about this footage, which appears to have been taken Wednesday, is that it exists. ... SCOTUS doesn't just bar cameras, it makes courtroom visitors surrender all electronics before entering the gallery," the newspaper reported.

Some More Lies From Us BAD True Americans.

Two Illegal Aliens Sentenced for $1.4 Million Food Stamp Fraud
Food-Stamp-Fraud-Reuters

(Breitbart) – Two Korean citizens in the United States illegally were sentenced last week in Baltimore to prison for obtaining over $1,400,000 in payments for food sales that never occurred as part of a food stamp and wire fraud scheme.

U.S. District Judge George L. Russell III gave Hyung Cho 38 months in prison and three years of supervised release and his mother, Dae Cho, 18 months in prison. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Maryland, “Both defendants resided in Catonsville, Maryland and are Korean citizens who are illegally present in the United States.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says that the Chos “agreed not to object to any proceedings that may be brought to remove them from the United States upon completion of their sentence.”

The Chos’ food stamp for cash scheme occurred from June 2011 to May 2013. According to Dae Cho, they exchanged between $25,000 to $30,000 worth of food stamps a month in the form of approximately 50 fraudulent transactions a day.

The Chos were caught as part of a larger Maryland food stamp fraud sweep that indicted eight of ten convenience store owners last September. Among those were two citizens of Yemen, Abdullah Aljaradi and Ahmed Al-Jabrati, living in Baltimore who pled guilty to wire fraud for operating two convenience stores, Second Obama Express and D&M Deli and Grocery. From October 2010 to July 2013, Aljaradi and Al-Jabrati obtained over $2 million in payments for food purchases that never took place. The two men are scheduled for sentencing in March and April.

A one-hour Hannity special with the Government Accountability Institute (GAI) called”Boomtown 2: The Business of Food Stamps” revealed how the food stamp industry has become a magnet for fraudsters as well as a major source of corporate welfare for big companies that profit from the explosive growth of the food stamp program.

Since January 2009, the number of individuals on food stamps has skyrocketed from 31.9 million to 47 million.

I do know that. My mother on

I do know that. My mother on Medicare had to have her gall bladder removed when she was in her 80's. She is doing very well at 90, living alone and taking no prescriptions.

Bet our ocare going forward would deny that out patient surgery now if she was the same age needing it today. Never mind she would still have going on a decade of independent life.

Remember "take a pill"?

At this point, I would say

At this point, I would say nobody cares about who is right or wrong but the remaining taxpayers current or former. But when this situation goes bottom up, the rest will care,

It does not matter until his supporters experience the pain of his policies. They will loyally follow him through their own uneducated ignorance, claims of racism, etc. They are too stupid and uneducated to realize they are being manipulated by powers that be around him.

Rude and crude

I haven't eaten there in years just for what you are talking about. It must be closer than the south side Applebee's for those of similar character.

Probably didn't tip either.

Right About Everything

Maybe not everything, but certainly almost everything. The democrats say that if Congress raises the federal minimum wage, that the economy will boom because everyone will buy more things.

The republicans say that raising the minimum wage will increase unemployment among lower-skilled workers. Raising the minimum wage will also begin a wage/price spiral upward that will devastate the bank accounts of those on Social Security.

The republicans are right on this one.

Well Obama missed the National Security briefing on the Ukraine but Obama was briefed by Susan Rice! Gee I wonder how that went? "Mr President there was this Anti Russian video trailer on the Internet that was produced in the Ukraine and a peaceful protest at the Russian boarder turned into a full scale invasion according to CIA talking points"!

KSL, gall bladder operations

KSL, gall bladder operations are routine, why would you think that your mother, or anybody else, would be denied a gall bladder operation?

They are easy to do, they are relatively inexpensive as surgeries go, they are easy to heal- why would you think that would be denied?
