Rants & Raves

DEAR WAL-MART shoppers, please stop leaving your dirty diapers anywhere and everywhere in the parking lot. I don’t know what is wrong with people who feel so entitled that you can leave your precious little child’s filled diaper in the nearest shopping cart or on the pavement for some other human being working minimum wage to clean up after. Not all customers are this inconsiderate, but it is a daily occurrence.

Here is a photo of a wren from TrulyWorried. I don't think I've run this one yet. If I have, I apologize. Send me your photos that you want to see here. sean.moores@augustachronicle.com Have a good day everybody. - Sean TrulyWorried

PLEASE PRAY FOR the postmaster. He cares more about letters and packages than human lives, which cannot be replaced or delayed. Some letter carriers drove more than 30 miles to be at work, had to case mail instead of being sent home, and then were sent out on the street to deliver mail while the ice kept building on the roads. Hope everyone enjoyed their mail today since it was more important than the safety of thousands of people and their lives. I am so thankful that I have a caring employer.

RAVES FOR OUR Chronicle delivery man, Mr. Wallace. He delivered every day during the recent ice storm, even days when the post office did not make deliveries to our house. It was great to get news from the outside world when we were feeling cut off with no power, no Internet, etc.

SQUIRRELS FELL through the ceiling into the gym at Riverside Elementary School. The principal does not have a problem with students continuing to have classes in the gym. Central office is clueless.

HOW CAN I REQUEST that my postman give a couple of short blasts on his horn when he drops off my mail? I have noticed my mail person does this for the houses that are expecting government checks.

RANT FOR DISTRICT 7 Augusta Commission member Donnie Smith for appointing that troublemaker Brad Owens to the Urban Redevelopment Authority. Owens carries a big chip on his shoulder. All one has to do is read his rantings on the Internet to see he will be giant step backwards for progress downtown.

HEY, AUGUSTA National, please save Ike’s tree to use the wood for specialized carvings. Let some GRU students get to work on them for projects that you can display during Masters Week.

SOMETIMES, AS government employees, we whine too much. At least we have the opportunity to make up the time we miss because of the inclement weather. Hourly workers in the area won’t be able to make up their time.

RAVE to the little kid in Huddle House.

We were just finishing up a Good Meal, when a little kid about 10 or 11 years old came walking across the parking lot and in to the restaurant.

He was there to pick up a phone in to-go dinner order.

It seems his momma has been sick in bed for a few days.
An she calls in the orders and sends him, just down the street to pick up hot meals to feed his mother and other smaller siblings.

I watched as he inspected the order against a list he had.
Asked for extra this or that items.
Then pulled out a $20 bill paid and counted his change.
The waitress and the cook both were both impressed as we were.

Sitting there looking at the responsibility laid on this kid at his young age, renewed my hope that there are some 4+ generations behind mime, that might save, build, or rebuild this country one day.

My hat is off to the kid, for taking care of his family.

Surprise surprise surprise.I

Surprise surprise surprise.

I see the Political smear campaign is still underway and getting picked again for the R&R's.

I wonder why a few people seem to be worried about Brad being on the Urban Board? Why are they circling their wagons around their their Pork Barrel?

Like I said yesterday....
It seems a political group is really worried, about Brad's Oversight. Really worried.

Why else the organized "Personal Attacks"?

Disclaimer: I have never met or spoken with Brad in my life.
But I have read dozens of his pointed Comments that exposed or slapped more than 1 persons greedy hands over the years.

More Obamacare fallout

Fourth Georgia hospital closes from Obamacare indigent payment cuts.

"But the reality is more complicated. The federal government has historically made payments to hospitals to cover the cost of uninsured patients seeking free medical care in emergency rooms, as federal law mandates that hospitals must care for all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

Because the Affordable Care Act’s authors believed they’d forced all states to implement the Medicaid expansion, Obamacare vastly cut hospital payments, the Associated Press reports.

RANT #2

Unpublished

Neither rain nor sleet nor snow shall keep us from our appointed rounds. Does that ring a bell? If police, fire and electrical linemen could go out and do their jobs why do you think you shouldn't have to? If it's too tough for you look for another job!

Lazy people....

I have seen the dirty diaper dilemma as well as seeing perfectly capable people just leave their shopping carts all over the place, even when they are right next to a cart return. I have also seen people with difficulty walking take their own carts to a cart return. It all boils down to this..... The world has become a very lazy place!

Suspicious Minds

From yesterday’s R&Rs we had this exchange:

Corgimom: Seenit, have you heard Martina McBride's version of Suspicious Minds? It doesn't hold a candle to Elvis. Nobody does.

seenitB4: Nope...can't match Elvis..but still good....I miss the oldies...

Elvis’ version is still tops, but here is a close second from Jessie Colter (with hubby Waylon Jennings):

Loving it Llamb

The music is fantastic & also the words.....the meaning in the words...

"Suspicious Minds"

We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby

Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?

We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds

So, if an old friend I know
Drops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?

Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying

Squirrel drop from tree

Years ago at our house near Wheeless Rd I saw a squirrel drop from a high tree....the reason I remember this is because it fell on my dog...that was the 1st time I saw a dog's behind meet up with the front paws....it was so dang funny we dropped on the ground laughing....

It really looked like a cartoon...btw, both were ok after this drop. :)

All this talk about car tags

Has me wanting a house/mansion like Twelve Oaks or Tara...when I move back to the CSRA I might just build a house like that....maybe in Appling, close to cgee's place....lots of room for horses & dogs....not to close though because cgee might complain about my dog barking or something..

My mail carrier honks the

My mail carrier honks the horn when I have a package, delivers my husband's mail-order meds, or when there's too much mail to fit in the box.

We don't get government checks delivered to our house, nobody does anymore.

Some people need to mind their own business and quit worrying about what other people are doing.

22cal Ammo is too expensive to use on Rodents

I purchased a Wal-Mart 22cal Air Rifle Rifle and 500 pellets which cost under $150.00.

At 1024 per/sec and the little boogers never know what hits them.

I be's broke

I bought my lotto ticket at the wrong gas station. Oh well, so much for an early retirement. My plan was to treat everyone who wanted to come to dinner at the Frog Holler Tavern when I get back to Augusta in late March. Now I can only afford What-A-Burger.

Squirrels

I actually saw one misjudge a leap to a branch that was a bit farther than he thought it was - did that whole "walking in the air" bit...it was funny as heck! Not only that, when it hit the ground, I swear it looked around to see if anyone saw what happend..

I finally gave up fighting the squirrels in my yard and got one of those bird feeders that spin them off - talk about entertaining!! Watching them get flung off after spinning a dozen times will definitely brighten your day. Especially when they are hanging on by one finger...

Hmmmm.

That could easily describe a few Georgia wrens I've run across lately as well.

Red headed

I saw the exact same thing. That squirrel totally misjudged his flight path and hit the ground from about 20 feet up. I feared for his condition. He looked dazed for a minute, acted like he had had the wind knocked out of him, stood up and scampered back up the tree.

Something We Knew Was Coming.

Fourth Georgia hospital closes due to Obamacare payment cuts
hospital-closed

(Daily Caller) – The fourth Georgia hospital in two years is closing its doors due to severe financial difficulties caused by Obamacare’s payment cuts for emergency services.

The Lower Oconee Community Hospital is, for now, a critical access hospital in southeastern Georgia that holds 25 beds. The hospital is suffering from serious cash-flow problems, largely due to the area’s 23 percent uninsured population, and hopes to reopen as “some kind of urgent care center,” CEO Karen O’Neal said.

Many hospitals in the 25 states that rejected the Medicaid expansion are facing similar financial problems. Liberal administration ally Think Progress has already faulted Georgia for not expanding Medicaid as Obamacare envisioned.

But the reality is more complicated.

The Supreme Court ruled that states could reject the Medicaid expansion in 2012, as part of the decision that upheld Obamacare generally. Since that decision, the Obama administration has so far instituted 28 unilateral delays and changes to the health care law’s implementation without congressional approval, Fox Business reports.

From verifying eligibility for subsidies to enforcing employer requirements, the Obama administration has already taken a hacksaw to the health care reform law, but it has made no changes to the provision raising problems for half the nation’s hospitals.

While the feds wait for financial pressure to force states to act, several state governments have been taking things into their own hands. Some have criticized these moves as “hospital bailouts.”

I know

There is a difference between he/she and you and I. We can admit when we agree with someone we don't usually agree with. They are all about hatred. They typically will not be able to discuss an issue without coming away with a dislike for the person who successfully disagreed with them. Not meaning that one won.
