We might see flurries tonight

Meteorologists are closely monitoring a weather pattern that could bring rain and even some snow flurries this evening.

If snow does fall, it is not expected to come close to what crippled parts of Georgia last week.

Georgia state climatologist Bill Murphey said a southern stream is expected to zip across the state this afternoon which might result in a little wintery precipitation.

The latest models show the system has limited moisture with the best chance for moisture falling across central Georgia. Rain is expected to start falling and could turn to a wintery mix of snow and rain after 9 p.m. for a few hours. No accumulation is expected.

Precipitation is expected to be less than 0.1 inch across central Georgia and less than 0.05 inches farther north.

Even though there isn’t expected to be accumulation, roads could be susceptible to patches of black ice early Friday morning.

Where?

Read carefully Ms. Cain Johnson's story. Where do you think the wintry precipitation will form? There is not a clue. We certainly know it will not affect the entire state. The Chronicle should wait until there is a little more precision in the forecast before publishing.

Well at least all the milk and bread people rushed out to get last week still ought to be good this week.
