Rants & Raves

Comments from readers:

IT SEEMS TO me that Georgia Regents University does not want to be associated with Augusta. There seems to be a lot of tweaking going on behind closed doors. People complain about it but continue to support the leadership. The university officials should be tweaked out of their job for lying to everyone who donated money for the changes. I say it’s time for another change, President Ricardo Azziz included.

THEY SAID IN The Chronicle that the schools are having problems getting grants, but in the picture every kid has a computer. Students don’t need computers. These students need to learn how to add and subtract. They can do without computers. They are just too lazy now.

IT’S NO WONDER the VA is having problems providing our veterans with first-class and timely care. They are just too busy with imposing their bureaucratic and ridiculous rules; e.g., the recent prohibiting of Christmas carols. It’s time for the VA to move on and concentrate on taking care of our sick and wounded veterans. The veterans deserve our undivided attention.

RICHMOND COUNTY was awarded $15 million of the total awarded to Georgia for the Race to the Top grant in 2010. This federal funding will run out this summer. I know the money has been spent on teacher training, but there seems to have been no noticeable improvement of academic achievement in our schools. Where (is) the responsibility and accountability for the $15 million spent?

TO THE WATER utility worker who was driving and getting out of the vehicle reading meters at every single house in Pepperidge subdivision this month: What a waste! The weather had warmed up and you still chose to waste taxpayers’ money and energy. Shame on you.

WOULD YOU BELIEVE that we have a U.S. post office on a U.S. military post that flies no American flag?

THIS IS A RANT FOR the Richmond County Health Department. Yesterday I carried my daughter there for shots, but the place was a zoo. Men hanging around blocking the entrance, smoking, kids running around everywhere, standing in chairs, and one woman still wearing her PJs and bedroom slippers at 3 in the afternoon and her mouth was worse than a sailor’s. We were terrified. We did not feel safe
at all. Thank God for security coming up front in the lobby. No doubt new staffers must be in charge. I’ll never return.

I think the person speaking about the meter reader misunderstood

Most meters are WIFI read.
Not like the old days while, back in the 80's when they walked 5 miles a day popping lids, scraping off Fire Ants to read a meter.

The only time I see my meter reader is when he is verifying a high reading that the scanners noted.

So it is possible you misunderstood what you saw.

If that answer does not satisfy you, consider this.
It takes more effort to Stop get out of a Truck, walk over to the meter, bend over pop the lid, read the meter, put the lid back on and walk back to the truck and get in it, crank it back up, travel to the next meter <100FT away and repeat the process over and over again.

Of course the Meter Read might have seen someone closely watching his truck and is worried they want to steal it?

The Parallels of County Health Dept and OBAMACARE

It is free to you or pretty much costs nothing.
But It costs taxpayers a bundle.

Enjoy it for the lesson it may have taught you, if you were paying attention?

This is a 1st hand early warning opportunity to see what Obamacare will be like.

Remember your visit come election 2014.

And thanks for inadvertently reinforcing our opposition points about Obamacare and what it will do to American Healthcare.

Health Dept

You don't have to go to the health dept to hear sailor talk. Just stand in a checkout line at Wal-Mart. These are the people who are sucking the hard working taxpayers dry. It is a shame the little kids have to hear this. That is why the kids talk the same way.

nocnoc, I've gone to the

nocnoc, I've gone to the Health Department in Augusta before, long before Obamacare. And yes, it was pretty much the way the ranter described. It's been like that for years. How does that have anything to do with Obamacare?

Two Most Evil Men In Western Hemisphere

According to the liberal media, Gov. Christie and Gov. Huckabee are the two most evil people in the western hemisphere. What did they do? Not much, they are Republicans is about it.

Meanwhile New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat said, “If you are conservative Republican against abortion or homosexuality you have no place in the state.” Did the national media say anything about that? Nope.

C-mon thanks for the oppotunity to explain deeper

No debating the clients served or the limited treatments available or the mass confusion and paper work issues involved in getting services.

No I am
just pointing out that is what our Hospitals will function like in 10 years, if Obamacare is permitted to stand as fundamentally written.

Now Tit-For-Tat - Answer me this.
Why should 295 Million others be forced by the Government into purchasing something, only to cover the constantly quoted 15 million uninsured?

Would not the price of Obamacare greatly reduced, if the FED's just insured the 15 million with a $1M Cap per person per year and allow states to manage the insurance companies involved?

$15B per year sure is a lot less than $130B a year and it only effects the 15 Million uninsured.

Because, as you know, it had nothing to do with the uninsured.

The results of 2014 & 2016 elections followed by

what they do when in office will make or break,
what remaining trust we have in the Federal Gov. as being representative of the people.

I am waiting to see.
Will RINO's do somethings, or will it be like the last 30+ years.
They get into office based on promises of being something, then sit back and do nothing about what they promised.

Think of how many times the RINO's controlled both houses and none of their promises have been acted on?

This is why I am voting based on the TEA Party Principles in the coming elections.

Plus, I want campaigners to sign a promissory statement (Contract) to abide by what they promise during the campaign and place it on their websites front page throughout their time in office as measuring stick for the voters.

GRU commercial on NBC local

GRU commercial on NBC local affiliate, no Augusta mentioned, Medical College of Georgia is, which is good, but Augusta is blatantly absent from the commercial, where the GRU AUGUSTA representative touts the school. Another slap in the face. GRU by itself is just plain ugly. It NEEDS the word Augusta and all that goes with it.

"According to the liberal media....

....Gov. Christie and Gov. Huckabee are the two most evil people in the western hemisphere. "

We don't yet have all the facts on "Bridgegate," but the facts are in on the Huckabee controversy (should it be called "libidogate?)

What Huckabee said was absolutely right. That IS the way democrats view/treat women.

What will be interesting is to see how other Republicans handle the trumped up controversy. Do they stand up for the truth, or do they slink away with their tails between their legs?

Dial it back Huck

If so, he may have to learn to dial it back. As Slate’s Dave Weigel points out, Huckabee has used the “libido” reference at least once before – during his Fox News show last Sunday, in fact.

“For Democrats to reduce women to beggars for cheap government funded birth control is demeaning to the women that I know who are far more complicated than their libido,” said Huckabee then.

As Weigel notes, that’s a crowd pleaser – for a select audience. If Huckabee really is going to run he may need to sort out the rhetoric he reserves for true believers from what he uses in forums where he’s likely to attract broader attention.

Because if nothing else, he’s created an excuse for Democrats to bring up past instances when he said things about women that some found insulting. For instance, in 2012 Huckabee wrote on his Facebook page that men may be better than women at multi-tasking due to the latter’s hormonal ups-and-downs.

That may not help the GOP in its effort to close its gender gap with Democrats.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His words open up a can or worms that HURT the GOP.....over & over the Reps ignore this lesson...just like some on here..& the last time I checked we LOST the national election....so keep sticking to your same ole same ole ways & LOSE AGAIN...

Why Do Democrats Have A Hissy Fit...

....when Republicans make points like the one Huckabee just made?

Why do their eyes bug out, faces turn bright red, steam rolling out of their ears just because a man speaks the truth?

Why do they rush to the media and condemn the truth? I'll tell you why....

It's because the truth hurts them. It shines the light on their ridiculous, petty ideas about what government should be doing? It highlights the fact that their appeal is strictly an emotional one and that they shouldn't be taken seriously on policy matters. Further, the more they attack and the more they pass and moan, the sillier they look.

Sandra Fluck is/was the poster child for female democrats. Because of her (trumped up) controversy she was cheered and embraced by democrat politicians and even chosen as a featured speaker at their last Presidential Convention.

Around her, they created this entire fake narrative about the Republicans' "War On Women." Huckabee's comment simply highlights their hypocrisy and their silliness.

Huckabee was right.

Here, judge for yourselves...

My neighbor and I have water

My neighbor and I have water meters side by side. I have the newer Wi-Fi but the neighbor still has the old meter, buried about 3 inches down and is never read. I see the meter reader get out of his truck, stand and look around, then drive away.
and No..we are not all Wi-Fi yet,

The Dems laugh at the same crazy remarks that the Reps make....they know that women VOTE & VOTE with their needs in mind......get over yourself & smell the coffee....this is not 1950 & women stayed at home & wore the apron & had 5 or more kids...

And JTF...with YOUR money you could buy birth control for every woman in Ga... bye bye again....♥
