Emily Bordon, 19, of Evans, was crowned Miss Augusta 2014 at Greenbrier High School.

Bordon, a graduate of Lakeside High School and a sophomore childhood education major at the University of Georgia, won using her platform of “opening young eyes to the impact of education.” She performed a lyrical dance to the song I’ll Be by Edwin McCain.

Hilary Pulos, 20, of Jesup, Ga., was crowned Miss Savannah River 2014.

Pulos graduated from Wayne County High School, and is currently a senior at Georgia Southern University double majoring in kinesiology and Spanish. She holds associate degrees in health and physical education and in modern foreign languages from the College of Coastal Georgia.

Pulos’ platform was women’s health awareness, and she performed a lyrical dance to Amazing Grace.

Both women earned scholarships Saturday and will compete in the Miss Georgia Pageant on June 21 at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Ga.

Miss Georgia will compete in the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City in September.

Yeah, both these girls remind me of girls I used to date when I was in college.
Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
