RAVE TO STEPHEN Donohue and the River Club Homeowners Association for finding a way to halt progress on Project Jackson.

DON’T CARE ABOUT Mandela. Or Obama. Or Jimmy Carter. Bush, Bush and Chris Christie, the same. What concerns me is keeping my health plan and my job. Taxes and food costs are going up. So … bring our troops home. Close the borders. And get some leadership that will get our nation moving again.

WHEW, THEY REALLY up and fired Fred! OK, so does that mean the commissioners can better do the budget without dipping into reserves?

AUGUSTA PUBLIC Transit, you really need to be able to cover instances where there is an unfortunate leakage of body fluids. Please have stuff to either clean the buses, or something to mark the “unclean” seat, or pull the “dirty” bus off the line to be properly cleaned and dried. You should know that it’s considered a health hazard when bodily fluids are leaked.

WHAT IS UP with you people who think it’s funny to drive by someone walking and splash puddle water on them?

WHEN CONSIDERING an increase in the minimum wage, always remember that most union wages are tied to the minimum wage and go up along with it. Don’t let the Democrats fool you into thinking that they care about minimum wage workers.

MOVING FORWARD! Although I no longer live in Augusta, I am happy to learn that Augusta will possibly move forward in the future, after firing Fred Russell. I personally believe he was a hindrance, cocky and arrogant, rather than being in place for the people and the city. Great job and now make progress. City of Augusta, stand up!

RECENTLY A RANT was made in regards to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department not going after red light runners and folks without brake lights. There are too many!

IT IS ABSOLUTELY deplorable how the Augusta Commission fired the city administrator in such a back-stabbing way, right after he publicly mentioned retiring. They should be glad that Russell put up with them for so long!

IF OBAMA CAN walk across the stage in South Africa and shake the hand of communist leader Raul Castro, why can’t he walk across the aisle and extend a hand to opposition leaders here at home? He needs to learn from Nelson Mandela.

You Got It

Ranter #6 is spot on. This insane push for "living" wage, a ridiculous increase in forced minimum wages, is for the benefit of high-dollar union contract workers, whose pay is pegged at a factor above the minimum wage.

Increasing the minimum wage increases unemployment rates, and cripples opportunities for young, entry-level workers to get some needed experience.

We must leave the minimum wage where it is.

In fact, in a world where liberty is cherished, there would be no such thing as a governmentally-mandated minimum wage.

Have you ever experienced a newspaper columnist more negative than Tom Crawford? It must be sad to walk in his shoes. Look at this most recent example of his negativity:

minimum wage-union wage

Is there anywhere I can find the information on the union wages being indexed to the minimum wage?
Could be some interesting reading.

If you will type the following words into your Google search engine:

minimum wage union wages related

you will see many, many, many articles showing how many union wages are tied to the federal minimum wage.

You're welcome.

Day After Christmas

Twas the day after Christmas,
and all through the AC land,
Not a creature was stirring,
not even Riverman.

The posts were all hung,
by the chimney with care,
Knowing seenitB4
would shortly be there.

The posters were settled,
all snug in their chairs,
while visions of Sean Moores' warnings,
flashed everywhere.

Humble Angela in her curlers,
and MyFather in his cap,
were itching to post,
after taking their nap.

When out on the lawn,
there arose such a clatter,
that AutumnLeaves called the cops,
to investigate the matter.

To the window I went,
to checkout the noise,
and saw Little Lamb, nocnoc & harley,
and the rest of the boys.

There sat an old clunker,
that had fallen in the gorge,
and from it emerged a figure,
that looked like Cobalt George.

"Danged old contraption",
I did hear him mutter,
along with some choice words,
that I dare not utter.

He said,"I have a present,
that I must give away."
"I will help you",
said itsanotherday.

No ID was required,
to receive his fair treat,
Just "respectful conversation",
by the posting elite.

The crowd that did gather,
was different indeed,
There was happychimer, Dixieman,
KSL and Gage Creed.

Along came Sweetson, Rebellious,
carcraft and RoadKill,
With dichotomy, justthefacts,
t3bledsoe and Lilyofthemills.

The gift that was given,
brought all such good cheer,
It's message was simple,
"HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR".

Little Lamb....how many
Unpublished

Little Lamb....how many minimum wage jobs have you had? Have you EVER had a job? Have you even wondered how people try to live on minimum wage? Who CARES what the unions are doing, and to use that as an excuse to continue the pattern of basically enslaving those who can't find or get better. With most minimum wage jobs, there are no benefits, as employers won't give full time, but expect the employees to be available at a moment's notice, making it impossible to hold a second job. You also, while railing AGAINST welfare, are subsidizing billion dollar corporations out of your own pockets by having to give welfare and food stamps to many of the holders of of minimum wage jobs. The cost of a hamburger will go up 10 cents. Heartless, financially ignorant and hearkening back to the times of slavery is how I describe those who oppose paying a living wage to all workers. You can have all the businesses you want, but without the workers, YOU HAVE NOTHING.

Home Owners Association Disagree

"RAVE TO STEPHEN Donohue and the River Club Homeowners Association for finding a way to halt progress on Project Jackson."

I saw a TV news report where some of the Homeowners Association members were ticked about Donohue's lawsuit. They said there never was a meeting of members to discuss the issue or a vote before committing their funds to such a challenge.

Well, heck, so by THAT logic we should do away with those jobs and pay them even more welfare? But I’ll do you one better than your claim hamburgers would only go up 10 cents. I bet they won’t go up anything. Fast food places are competitive and they would simply reduce the number of workers, make them work harder and introduce more automation.

Kansas professor Dr. George Bittlingmayer described discussions on fast food wages as a symptom of a larger problem: the U.S. school system. “Low wages for adults are a sign that something didn’t go right in terms of education and work experience,” he said. “We’re not addressing the cause.”

Project Jackson - aka Steal the Education of Aiken Kids

River Club Homeowners Association has only delayed it.
$$$$$ talks in North Augusta just like it does in ARC.
The Power Brokers will find a way proceed on Project Jackson.
Or cut a payback deal with River Club Homeowners Association.
Remember The City/County has enough Taxpayer revenue to fight this into the next year and they'll spend every dime of your $$$$ to win their $$$$. River Club has limited $$$$ to seek a court battle or appeal. Besides why does everyone think the River Club wants to outright win? This could be nothing more than another "Save the ___" crowd pleasing cooling tactic.

Augusta Transist

Give us the rider figures per bus, per route.

Give us the amount paid by riders vs. the Taxpayers.

How much are the Taxpayers in the OUTSIDE management deals
per route trip.

Figure for YEAR to DATE, nothing a face saving high rider period.

BTW: remember we read in the Paper a few weeks ago that Students were scared to ride the AT Buses what gives with that?

Is there a high Crime/Violence rate associated with riding the buse.
Or was the RCBOE blowing smoke up our Tails to swing adding costly "Special" Buses for the Misbehaving brats in a Last Chance school?

GACopperhead, I worked a

GACopperhead, I worked a slightly-above minimum wage job after high school= Sears, to be exact. I had to pay my way through college. And I looked around, and saw people trying to raise families on what they were making, and I said, "I'm going to do whatever it takes to graduate from college, so I don't have to struggle like this for all of my life."

And that's exactly what I did.

Minimum Wage was not meant to the Lilfesytle of the Rich

and famous.

It was a starting wage, a get by wage.

It is NOT a Smartphone, Total Dish TV channel package, and a 50" LCD TV income.

Too many people have become use to getting what they want NOW.

Minimum wage has always been a starting point for the UNSKILLED with basic education.
Want more $$$$? here is those 2 dirty words again
EARN IT,learn a real technical trade learn a real skill.

Fry cook and hamburger flippers, no matter how you dress it up are a NON-technical job that a machine can do quicker and better, without spitting or putting hair on the food.

See for yourself there is a machine waiting for your job.

The UAW and other unions found that out after their continued wage demand like $25 to put nut on a bolt job.

BTW: The UAW was sold down the road by the Democrats, Clinton/Gore pushed an got NAFTA, which cost the US UNIONS and US Unskilled assembly line workers and estimated 750,000 jobs. since 1994.

Huh?
You know, maybe, just maybe, there are other news stories in the US other than Obamacare. And considering that a bunch of people didn't get packages delivered on time for Christmas, that would be an appropriate story.

And maybe, just maybe, there are a whole lot of people in this country that are not obsessed about Obama and Obamacare, and have other interests in life.

Sheesh.

LL says:

"In fact, in a world where liberty is cherished, there would be no such thing as a governmentally-mandated minimum wage."

I wonder, in fact, if entry level wages would actually be higher in most cases. Minimum wage laws give employers and employees a target starting point, which may be artificially lower than supply and demand may dictate.
